This experience was for a wedding and the service was awful! The Good: The hotel and surrounding area was nice and well maintained. The Bad: The pillows provided were horrible and some rooms were tiny while others had plenty of room. Almost every room had missing remotes for the in-room TVs and when I got mine it was the wrong one. The Ugly: The staff! We were doing the rehearsal and the sprinklers turned on! While they did try to turn them off eventually it was only after the rehearsal was over. We bought extra food just in case more people arrived than expected so when we tried to take the food we paid for, the owner said we couldn't take the leftovers, WHAT!? He even threatened to call security for us trying to take food we PAID FOR! The bar staff was rude the entire time and they even DROPPED THE CAKE!
This is a business that is not serious about providing a memorable experience. TV remotes not working/missing batteries. Instructing bride to walk a path that had sprinklers on. The "boss" told the wedding party that the food they paid for was not to leave the property. Then threatening to call security for non compliance. There is a lot of potential for this location, they just lack proper leadership. Some of the wedding party had pillows as flat as inmates would receive in jail. They also dropped the wedding cake. ugh Will not be returning.
We went to the Rock Room for dinner on Valentine's Day. We tried both specials and both were incredible. And the crepe with apricot sauce and vanilla ice cream for dessert was to die for. Plus the price was extremely reasonable.
Great concept for a wedding party. Service was poor at the rock room. Staff was friendly overall.Rooms: 5/5
It is close to home and enjoy their tap beers along with some awesome food and friendly staff. Food & drinks: Excellent food and nice tap beers.
Loved the rooms, history and quant surroundings. Special place Noteworthy details: Former school for the blind
No one was here to check us in. We had no idea we’re our site was. We just choose an empty one. 3 other incoming campers ask us who to talk to. The bartender was rude, unfriendly and said it’s owned by someone else and they are out of town. The bathrooms are disgusting the 3 days we were here they were not once cleaned and the campsite is full. They advertise a lake and the dnr has a sign next to the “lake” saying “pond” conservation…. The lake/pond is disgusting. Later to find the owners are overseas! No one was available.
The food was excellent, loved that the cooks were so interactive with us. Great place! We didn't overnight it, just came for meal.Service: 5/5
Andy is very rude and obviously didn't want our business. We were in Gary for a reunion and decided to not stay at the hotel because he was so rude and I'm not giving him my money to disrespect my family. The new owner has ruined this annual trip for us. I was born here and many of my family live here. I just booked a hotel in Watertown for an event in Gary tomorrow.
I am normally not one to vent but I was pretty disappointed and frustrated. I won the top bid a gift card for the Buffalo Ridge Resort, Gary SD, at the Hospice Auction last year. With COVID I hadn’t used yet and didn’t see it had an expiration on it. I said to my husband it would be perfect to use it on our way home from the hills so I called to make reservations for a queen room and said I had a gift card. So after driving 7 hours I was checking in and presented the card- the attendant said “can’t take, expired”…….the room is $139.00, I said there isn’t an expiration date on it, when did it expire - he said- it is no good, I again asked when did it expire and then he asked me to not be rude and please leave. So we were UNABLE to stay and UNABLE to give a good review
