Nashville native Tab Burkhalter’s roots run deep in Blount County. Eight generations of his family have lived in this area and he is proud to serve families and businesses who depend upon high quality legal and tax representation.
As a dual licensed Certified Public Accountant and Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Burkhalter is uniquely qualified to advise individuals and businesses on issues of tax, estate planning, asset protection, and other financial matters. He strives to build long-term relationships with clients, ensuring that their matters are given the detailed attention they deserve. The 1999 Summa Cum Laude graduate holds his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s select JD/MBA program. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1995.
Mr. Burkhalter has presented and educated about estate, business and tax matters throughout the Southeast. He is routinely retained by Counsel from across Tennessee to render Testimony, Expert Opinion and Valuation. Mr. Burkhalter has served as Acting General Sessions Judge, Chancery Court Special Master and Blount County Commissioner. Prior to founding Maryville based Burkhalter & Associates, P.C. in 2002, Mr. Burkhalter served as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel for entities within the Tennessee, Atlanta and New Jersey markets. He has worked extensively with business start-ups, helping foster entrepreneurs across Tennessee and the nation. Mr. Burkhalter’s personal client base spans both U.S. national and international interests.
Burkhalter believes in service and has devoted himself to community and regional initiatives for 15 years. He holds active positions on Boards of Directors throughout the region and he volunteers his personal time and professional expertise to advance Not-for-Profit Organizations. He and his wife of 19 years are raising three elementary aged daughters.
