Burlington GO Station

Description

Burlington GO Station is a railway station and bus station in the GO Transit network, located at 2101 Fairview Street in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, just south of Queen Elizabeth Way between Guelph Line and Brant Street.OverviewIt is a stop on the Lakeshore West line train service, and was, for a time, the western terminus of the rail services. Most peak-hour and off-peak trains now terminate service at Aldershot, and a few trains link Hamilton further to the west. There is a separate connecting GO Bus serving McMaster University. There are extensive parking facilities on both the north and south of the station. A large multi-level parking structure opened in 2008, significantly expanding the parking capacity of the station. During weekdays, Burlington Transit serves both sides of the station, connected by wheelchair accessible tunnels under the tracks.HistoryThe original Great Western Railway station was built in 1855, just west of Brant Street, about half a mile west of the current GO Station. With the building of the Hamilton & Northwestern Railway in 1877, this location became a connection known as Burlington Junction. Coords:

The trains are beautiful, super clean and quiet. Burlington GO is unmanned but clean and easy to get to, and the signage won't let you get lost. The parking garage is spacious even on a weekday...and parking is free for commuters. The way to GO to Union Station is the train. Loads better than driving.
Taking back 2 stars because it does not have any coffee/food shop. Rest everything is great. Nice & clean. For those who are not aware there is a huge multi-level free car parking on the other side of the tracks. You will never run out of parking spots at least for the next few years. There is a Go Bus connection to Confederation Go Hamilton/Stoney Creek, St. Catherines & Niagara falls but only once per hour Nov 2022. I hope they increase the frequency as we get more traffic. Edit - Feb 2023 Adding 2 stars for opening up the Tims. Taking back 1 star for closing it early in the evening! To be continued...
Me and my husband live in Hamilton and commute Burlington for work. We leave office 15 minutes early just to catch 80 no# bus from Harvester at South service at 4:48pm. We take bus from there since 6 months. Recently due to weather the temporary bus sign has dropped. We had to run to another stop two to three times as driver don't there. We mentioned driver yesterday that there is a stop but he was so rude about this. Today, we even waved him, he saw us still he didn't stop and nodded that he won't. This is absolutely disgusting behavior. We get delayed by an hour if we miss this bus to reach home. We sacrificed our 20 minutes at work, still we didn't get bus. Moreover, we have to stand for 25 minutes waiting for another bus in such a freezing weather that too suffering from cold. Worst day, just because of that rude, insensible, stupid driver.
Extremely dirty place… loos like the halls have never ever been cleaned/washed.Trudeau should invest and “refurbish” this place. This is a very busy and crucial spot for many people whose workplaces are located in Toronto. More security is needed. Police officers!
Wow, GO Transit has grown up! This has to be one of the nicest and most spacious suburban commuter rail stations I’ve ever seen. A large structure on the north side provides ample parking while the south side features a Tim Hortons and washrooms both closed during our visit.
Good place to catch the Go Train to Toronto. Left after 1.pm to go to the Toronto Auto show . Train was just about empty, so it was a good time to go. Easy to use Machines to pay for your trip. Also lots of parking outside. Good way to leave the car and enjoy the Train ride.
Horrendous lay out for handicapped. Elevators are all over the place, making an already difficult trek even longer for those with ailments. The elevator for the train platform is on one end, and the platform for handicapped entry to the train is on the complete opposite side. Even able bodied individuals don't walk down that far. It's very clear that planning on this was not with the intention of helping those that need it, but to just to look like they care from those that don't really need it.
Worst parking off of Fairview street, whoever built this parking lot should have their licence suspended. People have to walk through where the cars pick up people to get to their cars; they have fenced off the sidewalk for bus commuters only and people who drive have to walk onto the oncoming cars; no one knows you can exit where you came in so they all line up to exit left and right from the smaller exit. Very frustrating! This parking lot could have been planned better!!
Ladies Washroom clean. Transit employees helpful. NOTE: As of Feb. 18th elevator to tracks 2 & 3 Eastbound is down for service not sure of track 1
This is a hub for GO transit and Burlington Transit. The station is one of the larger stations but poorly situated to any amenities. No bathroom or attendant on the north side when BT is. I have no problem with GO but the lack of forethought, planning, and development of the condo with no commercial areas to hang out makes this place a dead zone for a place that could be a hub of activity for Burlington.
