I did 3 starts because I 100% loved the inpatient side. After coming here with 22% burns and spending almost a month here, I absolutely loved Jen and all the nurses, the Pa’s and doctors on the inpatient side. They explained everything in detail every day and were just so caring and comforting. Then I was moved to the outpatient side- the reason for the 3 star. You only ever see a CRPN- never a doctor. The first CRPN I saw was so rude and condescending- her name was Deb. The next one I saw was excellent- then she left on maternity leave. Now I’m seeing a gentleman. I received 1 laser treatment so far. I have a lump on my arm, twice emailed them about it and they have no desire to see it, one would think they would but they don’t. When I asked why there are no follow up appointments I was told they don’t do them because they see you at the next laser a month later. So don’t have any questions or concerns- or lumps- you need checked, because there are no follow up appointments. I was told to email my 2 pages of questions. And they were answered that way!!! They also called me “atypical” For having pain 3 days after I was released from the hospital. They wouldn’t prescribe any pain medicine They really had me believing I was an anomaly. They pushed me off to numerous different doctors for pain, because they couldn’t believe I had pain. Well pain managment and my family doctor both said- no it’s not atypical to have pain after 22% burns on your body. Who wouldn’t have pain within a month of the accident. All in all the inpatient is absolutely the best!!! The outpatient- no they aren’t good and need someone to revamp that side of things.
I was brought here from St Joe's hosp in reading pa. Deborah Boorse & an incredibly nice nurse treated me upon arrival. I had a freak accident with a blowdryer that caught fire & these women along with everyone else on the staff that i encountered were so gentle with me, as i was filled with anxiety, in pain & still a bit in shock. I will be going back on a weekly basis n totally recommend this burn unit to anyone in need of such treatment
Be careful to visit here for any treatment ! They charged us more than $2000 for just picking a small blister on my baby's feet. Soooo ridiculous !
