The Dane family is first-rate! I highly recommend them! When my Dad died of COVID in May 2020, they were so kind and compassionate. We could only hold a graveside service then, and those of us that lived away couldn't travel to Libertyville due to lockdowns. Marcee kindly livestreamed the service for us, for which we will always be grateful. It gave us great comfort to be there from afar. Fast forward 3 years, and Marcee, Preston and Phil were once again so kind and helpful when we wanted to hold the funeral mass for my Dad we couldn't have back in 2020. Marcee was so helpful with all of the planning; always answering my many emails, updating their website with new information I gave her and coordinating the final details. Preston was also very helpful with ordering a gravestone, which took months and multiple emails while waiting for the military to send the Army medallion I ordered for it. The gravestone is beautiful, and just what we wanted. The entire family has always gone over and above to help us feel welcome and comforted. We are very pleased with the exceptional service they provided to our family throughout these most unusual circumstances. A well-deserved 5 stars!!
My wife and I have used Burnett-Dane Funeral Home for all four of our parents, most recently for my wife's mother last week. Phil, Marcee, Rachael and Preston were genuinely kind, supportive and helpful in getting us through this our times of grief and sadness. They accommodated all of our requests to make the wake special and unique for each of our parents. Even though they had other obligations, they always made us feel like we were their number one priority. We highly recommend Burnett-Dane Funeral Home. They deserve five stars for all four of our occasions when we needed them.
They were great! Very compassionate, respectful and hospitable.
Friends and family commented to me what a great job Burnett-Dane did. They were highly professional and very nice. They made sure all the details were covered, things that we wouldn't have thought about because of our sorrow. They were so helpful and made the sad process go very smoothly.
We were VERY disappointed with our experience. They published the wrong name in the newspaper which negatively affected the turn-out for the service. They would not republish print version or credit us for their mistake. We felt rushed after the service when staff started disassembling photo boards while people were still visiting with family. Overall, staff behaved in a curt fashion throughout the entire process. The poor quality of service added to the stress of losing our mom.
I have been to other funeral homes that have been much more sympathetic to the family. They don’t display the friendliest of attitudes. After the priest talked, nobody ever asked if there was anybody else that would like to get up and say a few words. I know that there were other people that would’ve liked to have said something. I was very disappointed.
Everyone at the funeral home was considerate, compassionate and professional. They were very respectful of our feelings and needs during the entire process. This definitely helped make things a little easier during this difficult time.
Phil Dane was so helpful when I contacted him in a panic, hours after my mom passed; it was a Sunday and he went and picked her up immediately. He was so patient and kind every step of the way. I am so appreciative of everything I experienced at Burnett Dane!!
Not a pleasant experience by the staff. They were not very helpful and forced us out of the funeral home at the end of our service. Unprofessional.
I have attended numerous services there, and they are very compassionate professionals. Lovely facilities, and they create really beautiful multimedia tributes also.
