Loved it and will definitely return. White tail deer! Nice area to walk dogs. Location convenient to family and highway 40.Service: 5/5
Very nice park with lots of mature trees. Little interesting getting to our site, as we arrived after dark in a 39' class A towing a jeep, since the park is dark and the roads are narrow but that is our fault. Made for a beautiful, quiet night under the stars by the fire to relax. Hiking trails nearby, accessible from the campground, with plenty to do in this very large park. We only stayed one night on our way to FL, but hope to return and explore the area more. The young lady in the office was very friendly as well!
One of the best parks in America. Great trails. Beautiful. Rugged. Great place to walk the dogs. Trails are marked many choices varying degrees of distance and difficulty.
This place will always be a 5 star raking from me. I can't wait to see this place after it is rebuilt after the tornado. This place will always be home.Rooms: 5/5
Restroom has always been really clean for a park facility and is well stocked. Well maintained paved trail. A few pavilions, benches, lots of friendly cyclists, walkers, joggers, dog friendly. Nice, relaxing place to walk. Some dog walkers are not responsible about picking up dog deposits on the Big Dam Bridge -- which is not cool for folks, especially those in wheel chairs. Fishing pier is popular.
I camped here for the BDB 100 ride to avoid all the congestion of the hotel scene. I'm really happy with my choice. The campground was nice, similar to a state park feel with sites that could accommodate my tent all the way up to huge rigs. The staff was really friendly and the bathrooms were nice and clean. Other campers were friendly and courteous. I was able to hop on the river trail and ride 5 miles to the start of the ride. This was a big plus to avoid the parking and congestion. I would definitely camp here again
This is a nice, huge park. The Arkansas River flows along it, and you have access to fishing, and a boat ramp. There are also many different sport fields, mainly soccer ones. It's also outside of town just a hair, and has nice trails to walk too.
Significant tornado damage still makes entering most of the park difficult/impossible. The literal mountains of debris have been removed but the majority of the park is still closed to visitors.
We meet up here to as a half way point to exchange my daughter and let all the kids play together. I can definitely say it was worth the stop. Very nice park with alot to do. The kids loved the train cart and tank to go look at and the little amusement park was cool and nicely priced. If u haven't been it is a great place to visit or take kids to.
The tree sap and acorns constantly dropping on our roof was terrible. It’s got a nice loop though but only one or two pull through lots. It has gravel lots as well as concrete lots. No sewer for all but one RV that looked semi permanent and it was right behind the office. It has a shower house that was clean. The lady that manages the place is super nice and laid back.
