Burr's Unfinished Furniture

Purchased a beautiful table from them, paid the $100 for it painted and varnished but only received one coat of paint. :/ Otherwise friendly folks and great store! Just make sure you paint it yourself and put more than one coat on! Read the other reviews for their track record.

I've never had a bad experience in here. Heck, walking through the door, I'm greeted with a smile and I'm made to feel like I'm at home. I'm definitely treated like family. The quality of the furniture is amazing! It's REAL WOOD! The prices are good for solid wood. You've also got the option to buy the furniture and finish it yourself. Me? I may not know where my strengths lie, but I know it's not finishing furniture! I've happily paid to have them finish the items for me, and I've never regretted that decision. All the work has been beyond professional. Plus, they've worked around my goofy schedule. If you want a throwback to a time gone by, when quality was the norm, and all stores were hometown stores filled with honest, genuine, hometown people that respect and care for one another, go to Burr's.

Burr's sells quality furniture. I bought a 2 drawer desk over the summer. The desk is sturdy and well made. I'm not confident in my furniture staining/painting abilities so I opted to have them paint my desk patina green. I love the color but we're less than 6 months out from the purchase and the paint is wearing off where I keep my hands when typing. I can't even use a damp cloth to wipe off the top without color coming off on the cloth. I don't own a vehicle that will fit the desk or I would have taken it back for them to redo it AND add a clear coat. I'm very disappointed with the coat of paint they used for the desk. There are also uneven spots but they're under the desk so it's not a big deal. But like I said, the desk itself is excellent- much better than anything you'd find at a big box store. If/when you purchase, be very specific about adding more than one coat and also a clear coat and check for inconsistencies in coverage. My husband and I really liked their dining room furniture but we've opted to keep looking because of the poor job done on such a small piece.

We bought several barstools and painted them ourselves. They were very sturdy, well made, excellent quality! Nothing like the cheap quality that can be found at most furniture stores. And, Burr's was most helpful with a quick lesson on using Milk Paint. It's my favorite paint to use now. Great store and great people.

We travel from over and hour and half to buy furniture from Burr’s. Cindy has gone out of her way each time to ensure we understand the choices of furniture brands and finishes. We have purchased multiple pieces over the last five years; bookshelves, tv cabinets, and two bedroom suites. Their finishing prices are more reasonable than any other store we have researched within a 2 hour geographical range. I worked in a furniture store near our Navy base early in our marriage long ;- ago and so I am familiar with types of wood and the manufacturers. Cindy has quality vendors to choose from and can assist with your price point. You only need to be up front with your goals and what you’re looking for. I also respect that they close Sundays and am happy to support this family business.

I bought a queen sized bed. There was an understandable delay while waiting for them to stain it, but otherwise, I got exactly what I wanted, it looks great, and my wife is happy with it. Mission accomplished.

Do not use this furniture store for refinishing, period. My wife and Father-in-law went here and spoke with the employee that handles refinishing, regarding two pieces of furniture they wanted to have work done on. They gave him exact measurements of the chest of drawers and also told him they wanted an end table refinished as well. So this gentleman gave them a verbal quote of between $125-$150 to do the the chest of drawers. Obviously, the end table would be more, but he never gave a figure for that item. He did ask for photos of the pieces, which they sent to him. At this point, if he misquoted the job, he should have said something. But no, that didn't happen...no word from him. So they drop of the two pieces and when they are ready, he calls my wife. Great she says, how much is the total? Here is where it gets good...this guy says it will be just under $600 including taxes. Now they both go back to the shop and my Father-in-law talks with the employee and he vehemently denies saying that low of a quote for the chest of drawers. He says that piece cost $350 and $200 for the end table. He says that he is firm at his $590 final figure. I am giving this review, so that others know to either get a quote in writing or don't utilize their services at all. Obviously they don't stand by their word and will utilize a low-ball figure to get you hooked. This is poor business at best and nearly criminal at worst. Waiting to see how this turns out and I will gladly post updates of the resolution process. Stay tuned...
