One of the top Mexican food places in San Diego. Their food is really clean and has that Whole Foods taste. We ate breakfast here and recommend you come try the breakfast burritos they are amazing. The vibe inside the restaurant is more of a fast food kinda vibe, but if you can see past that the food is amazing!!!Recommended dishesCalifornia Burrito, Supreme Breakfast Burrito, Guacamole, Chips
12.5.22 Monday morning 7am drove by the place. Turned around and glad I did because I had the pleasure of enjoying the BEST breakfast burrito I've had in my life. We were the only ones in line at the drive through. Service was prompt. We shared one breakfast burrito supreme for $10.49: Supreme Breakfast Burrito Served with eggs, bacon, ham, chorizo, potatoes, cheese, and sour cream. This thing was big, tasty, fresh, cheesy, meaty, and I added a tad bit of the spicy salsa. Wow! It had so many great elements and filled up two hungry adults with a few bites left over. Highly recommend this meal anytime breakfast served all day too!
This location is 200% better than the Washington street location! Every time I've gotten food here it's been hot off the press! Sorry for the photo being half eaten! I couldn't wait!!!! Anyway. The Washington St location chicken flautas are always so stale and damp. I've let these chicken flautas stand for 20 minutes on accident before, and they were still crisp in comparison. If this location isn't available on apps, I simply won't order.
Ordered their chicken flautas with cheese and guacamole. Drive home about 5 minutes away and opened my food. The flautas were soggy and the guacamole was so brown I looked closer to being black than brown. Food: 1/5
The food quality is top notch. Great location to Shelter Island and hotels. Always had customers no matter what time of the 24 hour day. Pricing has increased $$ but portions are generous. Smoke parking in their own lot next to a Starbucks. Seems that the airline pilots and crew like the place too. I recommended to his restaurant.
I ordered 3 baby tacos and a side of rice and beans. Cons: they forgot the rice and beans. We also ordered two horchatas but they forgot one of them. At least we didn't pay for the second one. Their food also needs seasoning, so make sure you ask for salt. Also, i have never had tacos without getting two tortillas per taco. The grease of the food soaked right through the thin tortilla and broke it. Made it really hard to eat. Pros: they give you a lot of meat. Meat tastes pretty good after seasoning. Horchata was good. All in all, food can be good, but make sure you check you have everything before driving off. I just expect more for the price I paid.
I came to this taco shop because I used to come here with my dad and we used to get Michelada‘s. I came here today and asked for a Michelada. The woman behind the counter said we don’t have Michelada‘s. How can you advertise them on the outside of your business and not have them?
$12 Asada Everything Nachos ! Amazing. Smells great. The dice tomatoes are fresh and the simple cheese spindles is just right opposed to heavy melted layers. You can taste everything in it. I love this place cyz of the fast drive through and affordable Bang-for-the-Buck. Notes: I had to repeat my order thru drive thru 3x as person seems to be ESL. So once I ordered the Tony's PLATE and I got the BURRITO after I made it cleat I ordered the PLATE. Burrito was $13, Plate $15. A totally different meal experience Parking: Adequate but not for trailer pulling or RVs.
Love this restaurant!!! Spent 4 days on a biz trip in San Diego, visited Tony’s EVERYDAY for lunch and dinner. Everything is made fresh to order and perfectly seasoned and cooked. My go-to favorite with every meal is the Ceviche Tostada. The beef tacos, fish tacos and shrimp tacos are unparalleled delicious! Top off your meal with their fresh made flàn or warm cream cheese-filled churro! Highly recommend this excellent local small family-owned business!
I usually don’t post reviews. After giving Tony’s the benefit of the doubt for the last 5 years, I am over it. It has always bothered me that you are forced to buy a drink with any burrito. I don’t want to pay for something I don’t want, so I end up taking a bottled water, which I don’t want. Today, they blew it for the last time. After ordering a Tony’s Mix Burrito with carne asada, chicken, bacon, shrimp, exactly as listed on the menu, with no modifications, the person at the window confirmed my order. What I received was a burrito with rice, 6 small shrimp, 3 pieces of chicken and cheese, no carne asada, no bacon and tons of rice. It was really a rice burrito with some shrimp and 3 pieces of chicken. I’m done, goodbye Tony’s.
