Burton Touch Free Car Wash on Putney Road is open 24/7. We have 3 pressure automatic wash bays as well as 4 self service vacuums and a vending machine with a variety of car care products.
The business we purchased was known as Town & Country Minit Car Wash. The current tunnel portion of the building was the only building on the property at that time. The machinery was barely functioning; cars were prepped outside of the building; The wash was not tall enough to fit vans or pick up trucks. In the first few years, the machinery was repaired and updated; it was raised to accommodate vans and pick-ups; the cement block prep bay was built so vehicles could be prepped inside. The name was changed to burton Car Wash.
1979 purchased another conveyor car wash on Northside Drive in Bennington in partnership with Arthur Eisner. This car wash was operational, but needed substantial repairs which we did.
1981 purchased at auction a defunct car wash on South Main Street in Rutland. This one had to be totally rebuilt. Spent many months working on it before we could open. Ran all three locations for a few years.
1986 sold both Rutland and Bennington facilities. Consolidated efforts on Brattleboro location alone.
1994 built detail shop building and changed name to burton Car Wash & Detail Plus. For a few years prior to this we had been doing a substantial amount of full service detailing under a canopy, weather permitting Year round detailing was made possible by the addition of a heated building.
1997 Added express detailing options. Updated name to burton Car Wash & Detailing Services.
March 2005 Opened burton Touch Free Car Wash on Putney Road. A few months later started offering express detailing at the Putney Road location as well.
February 2008 Ron passed on. Connie continues to operate both Brattleboro locations.
