I ordered a cake for my son’s 2nd birthday. He wanted a Rhino and Spidey cake. We were told we had to order 1/2 sheet cake in order to do 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla. They asked what I wanted to do to fill the white space, and I told them to do some spider webs in black and gray. This being a 4.5 star bakery, I was expecting so much better than what I received. Especially for $64. I’m deeply saddened by this. I will be calling Monday since they are already gone for the day. The sides of the picture are lifting up, the photo is tiny compared to the size of the cake, and cake is just completely unimaginative. Spidey isn’t even on the cake, it’s Spin. So that’s how much detail and thought were put into this cake. I will add more photos once the cake is opened, but I will go ahead and post the pictures I got while it’s in the box. This is NOT worth $64. It looks like they spent MAYBE 5 minutes on it.
Best donuts. Great selection when we went in on a Monday around 9a. Love this and all the Cincy bakeries!!
Nice bakery. Great staff. Delicious donuts.
Ordered 10, of the dozen printed cookies 120 total for an event, and I couldn’t have been any happier. They looked great, tasted wonderfully, and each one was individually wrapped. My guests just loved them and could stop talking about. Thank you, Busken Bakery for exceeding my expectations!
Definitely, SHOULD NOT BE MISSED if you are visiting Cincinnati. This place surely makes one of the best, if not best, donuts in the area. It is a 24 hours bakery but the best time would be during the day when the items are absolutely fresh and you see more options as well. The peculiarity about the donuts and other bakery items here is that aesthetically they are not at all appealing, except for few. However, in terms of taste, they are absolutely delicious. Their Old Fashioned donut is definitely to be tried. Apart from that, we tried few other items like Coconut Danish, Samoa donut and muffins like the Zucchini Nut and Applesauce Raisin. We have tried danish at many places but this Coconut Danish is the first danish we actually liked. Samoa donut was amazing and the toasted coconut was giving a very good crunch to the donut. While Zucchini Nut was great, Applesauce Raisin had a heavy flavor of cinnamon which kind of shielded the other ingredients. It was also slightly more on the gooey side. In general, for the donuts, they are just in a perfect balance - not so crumbly that it breaks and not so gooey that you have a hard time breaking it properly. However, I am not a fan of their coffee. You won't miss anything if you skip it. We love this place, especially for the kind of amazing donuts they make, keeping aside the aesthetics, and a great price. Most of the donuts are between $2-$3. So, you can try many donuts under $10 which is always great to know.
So many delicious choices, so little time LOVE Buskins. Have gone there forever! Their pastries are always fresh and good. Nice and helpful workers. Great Cincinnati tradition.
The best bakery in Cincinnati! I absolutely love all their products and the staff is absolutely incredible! Very respectful, polite and helpful. They help you get in and out in a timely matter. I love the winter mix tea cookies. I love to put together a treat bowl for my family and friends to enjoy!
I was told cakes a be ready by 10am yesterday... I got here today and there are no cakes upfront.. the woman behind the counter said they only have the one shown with pink1/4.. they brought out a round circle cake and said they only had that one available. Feeling no other choice I picked the round cake instead of the pink1/4 and then the woman comes out from the back with two different colors of 1/4 sheets... Said they were in the back. When I asked could I switch it they said no because they already wrote the name on it. Ladies, make sure your arriving earlier than your shift so everything is stocked properly. I feel like I was set up to settle when they knew they should have brought the cakes up. Highly unsatisfied.. and will never return again. Such a shame and I grew up on buskens... Just horrible. **Update** As I am pulling out there driveway from writing this review I see two female "servers" who was not doing anything when I initially walked in, coming back from getting pizza. Enough for more than 5people. So I'm really upset that they had time to go get pizza, instead of restock the cake display to update cakes available. I was forced sold a cake. Highly unsatisfied.
The apple cake doughnuts had hardly any apple flavor or spice at all. They really weren’t sweet enough either, just part way. I bought a couple of them at Busken in the Remke Market on Buttermilk Pike.
Had a ready made birthday cake needed last minute! And of course my favorite smiley face cookie. There are new employees there which is great, but one of them were answering my questions about the cake without researching, which caused delays in my purchase.
