My kids and I have been to three fairs this year so far that are run by Butler Amusements, Inc. Each one had friendly staff, functioning rides and delicious concessions. The Tehama District Fair was so much fun! Our own Shasta District Fair we had to go twice and go from open to close each day! We also went down to the Alameda County Fair after an Oakland A's game and guess what! Another amazing family fun filled evening and it was all thanks to Butler Amusements, Inc. Thank you so much! We will be going down to the California State Fair next week, which is also ran by y'all!
What a complete a total rip off. I expected to go to the State Fair spending an arm and leg playing games but $10 per game per person is asinine. I’m used to game operators calling and trying to get you over but One operator stepped in front of me and my family, stopping our movements and kept moving in front of us blocking us trying to get us to play his game. This company is a joke and I’m disappointed that the State Fair even chose them to be the vendor.
I went to the one in Oakland, near the Coliseum, in March 2018. Nice, well-behaved crowd, friendly employees, clean, attractive, well-maintained attractions - what more could anyone ask of a traveling carnival? Tip: Skip the individual ride tickets and get the Unlimited pass. It's a better deal, especially since you get credit for the $5 admission.
Don't buy the $60 wristband. We did purchase 2 wristbands at the Alameda County Fair and only got to play 2 games each. We were then told we only had $1 dollar each left on the wristband. I learned my lesson to never purchase these wristbands again.
I went to the Cow palace one in SF, and one of the game employees kept telling me to try the game out for free, I made a few shots in...then he handed my son a toy and looked at me and said "40 dollars mate" I was so confused, but ended up paying since my son really wanted the stuff animal. As I continued to walk around other game stands kept trying to pull the same trick which made me instantly go home. Aside from this I also noticed the prices for basic food was insane, 10+ for a pizza or hotdog, 8 dollars for a Twinkie. The rides were insanely over priced and even the all day band was incredibly expensive for a hand full of rides. Was looking forward to going here but after i went, major disappointment. Would not recommended.
Horrible business. All employees were Hispanic, did speak one word of English, people were trying to talk with them and they looked at you and basically a big “f you”. We were waiting in line for the Ferris wheel and a little girl wanted to get off because she was scared and was going to get sick and they kept telling the employee to stop, and he did not care one bit. Obviously they care more about getting a paycheck then worried about anyone. Games were rigged, basketball game, the rim was bent. Spend over $30 for a small stuffed animal. Don’t waste your money. Prices for wristbands insane. No discounts for little ones. Done with this company.
One in Sacramento was extremely underwhelming to say the least. Everything was extremely over priced, they didn’t offer any service member discounts to “recoup their losses from last year” you basically walk a giant circle and see the exact same attractions. And a good portion of the concessions were run by inmates or parolees with zero social skills. You can go to six flags for the same cost as the wrist bands. More than likely will never be going back to anything with Butler’s name on it. :/
Clark County Fair in WA. We purchased $27 worth of tickets and didn't get to spend $12 of them. After getting denied at the carousel we went to the operations booth to figure out what happened. They pulled the history which showed we played a game twice, which we only played once pull a duck from water game, and another game charged us $10 when we only played once 2 darts at a dart game. It also showed that it took the remaining $2 credit off the card when we were told we had insufficient funds at the carousel. The lady at the office said we had to of played those games twice and there was nothing she could do about the remaining $2. We were left with a card with $0 on it
Today my family and I went to the carnival at Laney College. I bought a soda with refill for 6.00. I thought it was free refills but anyway after I bought it, I accidentally spilled the whole thing so I went back and got a refill, then I was told it was 3.00 for the refill. I didn’t read the sign correctly but I didn’t even get to drink it because the whole cup fell and so did the drink. My wife went back and explained what happened and they were adamant about not giving us a refill because it was not their fault. I even spoke with a manager Amber Allen who refused to even give us a refill without paying for it,not even ice water!! We spent so much money there. We bought 3 corn dogs and also wrists bands not to mention spending money on their games. It wasn’t the three dollars but just the principle!!! Lousy customer service.
Went here recently to one opened in Oakland was disappointed. Everything is too pricey, just to ride the Ferris Wheel will cost you and a loved one $10 plus the $5 dollar per person upon entry. The games are expensive too, some being 5 dollars just for a single try.
