This a great library. A modern building and vibe. The ground floor is separated into age groups. Young children, teen and adult areas and a separate music library area. The basement has meeting rooms and the second floor is the reference and non fiction area. Is well planned out and a relaxed place to be.
They have one of the best organized genealogy departments I've ever seen. Everyone is helpful and friendly.
This library is clean, quiet, and has friendly and helpful staff. The building is bigger than it looks when you first enter. There isn't a mask policy but masks are allowed. There's an elevator for elderly or handicapped customers to get to the second floor, and they have a marvelous Genealogy section tucked into the back of the second floor. My only complaint is that they aren't currently hiring! :
Very rude and seem to not want to help you. Went there to use a presentation TV to set up my streaming stick due to issues using hotel sign in page on the device. The lady at the front told me they don't have one despite one being in the very next room unused then told me they're a closed community and accused me of trying to access their private network.
Now, I've been a regular patron of libraries wherever I've lived, but I enjoy the Butler Library, and the county's library system the most. Why? Because it is a great size, not too big and cavernous feeling, and not too small, either. I always find something good and have the benefit of being able to have books from the county's other libraries sent to the Butler branch. Being a familiar face has also meant great conversations and recommendations from the library staff. I've seen other reviews here say something to the effect of their being rude, but I've never gotten this impression and perhaps this was the result of a singular incident. I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt. I do appreciate just how much the Butler Library offers. There are group meetings, the genealogy department, classes, and so on. They certainly do a lot for youth as well. I recall there being a book sale in the basement a year or two ago. I made out like a bandit.
I mean the library is ok but some of the people I have run into seem extremely rude and very off putting. I have been offered the excuse of the "stress from covid". Well I hope that it cause otherwise I think some staff needs to be reevaluated. Not welcoming at all and getting info is like pulling teeth Covid has died down so it can no longer be used as an excuse. Very unwelcoming rude individual running this place. My husbands phone was not letting him swipe to answer their call..he immediately called back and was greeting with "you need to answer when I call the fist time" "and set your voicemail up so I can leave messages". Idk what make them think that's an appropriate way to talk to people.
Absolutely excellent and exceptional in every way. Helpful, informed, courteous staff who will bend over backwards to help. What a wonderful and delightful addition to our community.
The library is extremely well organized and has an exceptional staff that will bend over backwards to provide top of the line service! Excellent in every way!
Lovely staff. Respecting the public as much as possible during risky times. Small gestures appreciated in the bathroom. Great wifi when open to browsing.
Been coming for years and have always had good experiences with staff interactions. Helpful and friendly...
