Took our niece to the biosphere and had a lot of fun. There’s lots of educational activities that taught me a few things too! The biosphere is gorgeous. Lots of butterflies and even got to hold butterflies if you were gentle enough. They have a lot of cool species in there. The workers were all great with kids and there was a lot of activities for the kids. Tickets are a bit steep but worth it to experience it once.
It was so fun to see the butterflies! The kids enjoyed learning new things, and playing on the playthings. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the price. It was just under $100 for 2 adults and 3 kids under 12, with military discount. We enjoyed seeing beautifully colored butterflies and we had a very knowledgeable team members answering all of our questions.
The Butterfly Biosphere is Heaven on Earth! My family and I love to go there. I paid extra for the butterfly release today, and it was so worth it! Megan did a fantastic explanation of the butterfly life cycle and my 2 year old got to release a butterfly. Megan was so sweet and engaging! Anyway, this is such a happy place with loving and exciting energy for everyone. We love Thanksgiving Point!
Very neat experience. While we had a fun time, I’m not sure it’s worth the price to enter. Maybe. There are definitely a ton of butterflies and the area is large enough that you don’t feel overly crowded, but i wish I could have paid a little less and skipped the kid area that was towards the front.
This is a really fun spot for young kids. I’ve visited several different times with my daughter and she’s had fun every time. They have a large indoor butterfly area with a variety of live butterflies and tropical plants. I recommend going during slower parts of the day so that you have a better chance to observe and interact with the butterflies with your kids. Some young kids can get a little excited and chase the butterflies around during busier/crowded times. Inside, they have a insect museum area with live and dead insects exhibits, age appropriate children’s play areas, and an indoor slide that is quite large and twisty. Great place for an afternoon!
This place is an absolute dream! As an animal geek, I left completely satisfied and excited to visit again. The Glass Wing Butterfly are a rare species that is found throughout areas of Central and South America AND YOU CAN SEE THEM HERE AT THIS BIOSPHERE! Among many other butterflies you will see some exquisite moths and even a couple quails. Outside the biosphere they are some terrariums with all sorts of other bugs on the upper level of the facility. The playground and interactive places for kids are perfect for families, but yet still great for adults. Please take the time to go to Thanksgiving Point! It is absolutely worth your time.
This was a lot cooler than I expected! There were so many different kinds of butterflies and the staff was so knowledgeable! I do suggest if bringing children that they're either spatially aware so as not to harm the butterflies that land on the ground or someone keeps an eye on them while they explore. The butterfly release is very cool, and the public release they do is when children would need the most supervision as they really want to get up there and see because it's just so interesting. Highly recommend!
Fun place for kids and adults. The play area is great for the kids to run around and the biosphere area really does feel “magical.” It’s very well taken care of, large, and you’ll for sure get to hold some butterflies. We paid for the explorer pass so we could check out the other museums as well.
I love coming here with my kids. It's a very family-friendly atmosphere with a little of everything for any age.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Awesome place for kids or adults to interact with Nature, specifically butterflies. Also some baby quail running around too. There are new hatches released twice a day. Worth the membership price.
