The inventory is unique and classic. This shop is a must if you're tired of poorly made kids clothes. The ladies were so helpful to me explaining the difference between 4 and 4T, and helping pick out a just right sweater to go with our granddaughters' Easter Sunday outfits. Buttons and bows is a Richmond tradition for a reason!
Awful. I went into this store during the holiday season at about 545pm. Having no idea that the store closed at 6. Whomever the rude woman is you have working very aggressively let me know you closed at 6. Put a horrible taste in my mouth. If I owned the store and knew a sales person said that to a very likely buyer, I would be furious. You lost a purchase. It would have take me possibly a few minutes after 6 to make a decision and not only that, there were many toys in your store that my children loved for Santa to bring. This is not the first time I have had rude older ladies treat me this way. Over this store. I've given it many chances.
Should be called Bigots and Bows. I went in with my fiancée and a friend from MD to buy my newborn nephew some cute clothes. Not only were the clothes boring, they were also really overpriced. $40 for a single, boring onesie? And they were just cotton too, no fancy materials to warrant such an outrageous price. We kept looking to find something cute and fair priced, but everything in the store was dull and overpriced. We were about to give up when my fiancée overheard the clerks talking about my friend and I, as they had mistaken the two of us for a couple. They said something like "They're an interracial couple, better watch them, make sure they aren't stealing." My fiancée told us what he heard after we left the store, and I was so angry that I went back into the store to speak to one of the clerks. I told her what my fiancée has heard, and she just looked at me with a look that said, "So what?" She didn't even respond at all, like her racist views were somehow above me. At that point I just left, and decided to tell everyone I know to never shop at this horrible store.
This “boutique” is nothing more than a sham. First of all it is located in Richmond not Tuckahoe. Trying to pass onesself off as being located in an upscale community when it is so obviously not is shameful. The people who run this place are incompetent, self important and really very inept. The merchandise is substandard to say the least. Upon requesting information regarding merchandise, business hours, etc on several occasions I received no response. When patronizing the shop I found who I aasume was the owner to be rude, condescending and ignorant. What goes on in this place would never happen in any reputable high end children’s clothiers. I am so embarrassed for the people that work here. The woman who owns this place needs to make some changes and fast starting with herself. Talk around town is that the business is in serous trouble and it’s is blatently apparent to anyone who steps foot in the building.
Really nice clothes - classics that are well made and hard to find anywhere else. Excellent shoe selection - they help you get your little one fitted, help them test out the shoes and just have great customer service.
Love Buttons & Bows! Best place to shop for traditional, beautiful clothes!
