Welcome to Butts and Mutts! Central Ohio's leader in personal training and dog obedience! Here's the who, what, why and how behind B&M!
Who? Julie Long is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. She has a masters degree in Physiology and was an olympic and collegiate level swimmer. She is a lifelong animal lover, and has worked as the Director of the Delaware Country SPCA, in addition to being on the board there. She was also the co-owner of the not for profit Miles Dog Rescue and a member of the Tri-State K9 Search and Rescue Team. Julie brings her passion for fitness and animals together in creating Butts and Mutts!
What are we? B&M is a unique fitness program catered toward animal lovers. Fitness is critical to each and everyone of us, and that is not limited to those who walk upright! Our furry friends need just as much moving around as their loving owners, and we have created a variety of programs to help both man and his best friend! Detailed and updated descriptions of all our programs are constantly posted to our Facebook page in addition to our website www.buttsandmutts.com. We offer many different programs, including but not limited to:
-Private personal training
-Group Fitness classes (both with and without your pet!)
-Sit n Sweat (mixture of obedience and fitness for both dog and owner!)
-Bootcamp classes for the more extreme individuals
-much more!
Although we focus our training on pet friendly workouts, we offer several standard workout programs. B&M group classes give you AND your dog a great workout, and also teaches basic obedience and commands. Classes typically last 45-60 minutes, and can include everything from running, climbing, jumping, crawling and of course some stitting and staying. We don't like walls and roofs, so we train outdoors at a variety of locations around Columbus!
Why? Because we don't like how the fitness industry is currently working. We don't like gyms, we don't like cramped, hot, loud rooms full of people. We don't like handing over our entire paycheck to a gym who doesn't even know our name. We don't like leaving our dogs at home to go workout in a sweat box that often times resembles a night club more than a gym. What DO we like? We like being outside, we like sunshine, we like fresh air, we LOVE working out, and we LOVE our dogs. That is why Butts and Mutts was created, to offer an alternative to the gym. The offer a program designed specifically for individuals who want a REAL workout. We aren't a Zumba class, we aren't your every day "foo foo" step class, we do real work, and get real results for our clients, but physically and in terms of dog obedience. We want happy, healthy clients, active, well behaved dogs, and an outstanding bond between you and your furry friend.
