Ana Soriano was born in the Dominican Republic. She started her career in the cosmetology industry over 25 years ago years in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and then attended Wilfred Beauty Academy in New York, New York to obtain the required licensure to work as accredited professional hair stylist.
In New York Ana experienced intensified in this industry through the knowledge she acquired being a commissioned hair stylist worker, renting stations at different hair salon and then owning her own business in Brentwood, New York.
Six years ago Ana was ready for a change, she decided to relocate to Palm Bay Florida, and she worked in different hair salon until she saved enough money to have her own Salon.
In 2009 her dream came true when the opportunity to take over the ownership of Buzz and Cuts which is located at 4700 Babcock St., Palm Bay, FL 32905 presented itself. In order to add her culture background to the name of the business Ana made a slight change to the business name from Buzz and Cuts to Buzz and Cuts Dominican Unisex Salon. This also enabled her to attract the Dominican clienteles.
Dominican stylists are well-known for their dexterity with the brush and dryer as they give some of the best blow-outs. A bachata or merengue might be playing in the background as they unwind soft curls from bright plastic rolos; the chicas under the dryers shouting out the latest chisme while lunch is ordered family-style for everyone in the house. And, with a little help from deep conditioning products sometimes flown in from the island, natural concoctions that can include carrots, avocados, honey, milk and almonds among the ingredients. Hair straightening methods used are considered to be gentler than other methods. They work hair through rolos, round brushes, flatirons—whatever it takes—until each strand lies straight and shiny. Overall this salon offers a professional family oriented atmosphere.
