With a 24/7 shuttle to and from BWI at regular intervals, you can always find cheap tickets from Union Station on the MARC or Amtrak. The station has a large parking lot, an enclosed waiting area with a snack area, and outlets. The bike path even connects to the station!
This is a small but nice train station out of the real BWI airport. There's a free shuttle service between this station and BWI airport. It also has a nice parking building next to the waiting room. Restroom inside the waiting room, a small snack stand in there too.
A basic train station that seems 3rd world. There were not enough staff at the station to assist passengers. The waiting area was full of people talking poising on speaker phone - like a market place. The restroom was clean though. However the train station monitor did not reflect the actual status delay of the train. The parking building however was terrible. It smelled of urine; the ticket machines were all broken. They need better management.
This station is very small with an area to buy snacks and a reception. The restrooms are closed and it seems like it's been months, so if you want to use the restroom in an emergency, you will have to wait for the train. That's why I give it 3 stars. Amtrak you need to fix the toilets! However, parking is reasonable $9.00 a day! The good news is that there is no security to go through so you really only need to show up 20-30 minutes prior to your scheduled train. The train is very comfortable. I loved the cafeteria area with Starbucks coffee and tables to sit and enjoy and have a coffee … like in the movies! My trip was very pleasant, the staff were very nice and I have nothing to complain about the 3 hours we spent on the train!
I often fly into Baltimore instead of DC because it’s typically cheaper. The transportation from the airport to the station is straightforward and quick. Navigating the trains once you’re there is easy and there are plenty of people around to help.
Clean wait area, nice cautious and well trained staff and there are enough seats in the waiting area of gates. The only thing missing in this time of heightened hygiene consciousness are sanitation points by the gates. With a lot of passengers going through theses gate I think Amtrak and Marc should put up more hand sanitizing stations.
Have taken a few domestic and international flights in and out of BWI. It is incredibly convenient airport for Baltimore residents and DC residents as well offering amtrack both ways to DC and NYC. It usually takes me 30-60 minutes from my downtown to the gate!
Easily accessibly rail station with waiting area and limited food/snacks available. The restrooms are under construction and there are temporary porta-johns on site. I would recommend going to the restroom somewhere else before you arrive. The price of parking is reasonable, but if you have the time, it may be easier to take the bus services from another lot that is cheaper. Bus services can take you to and from the airport if this is the second leg of your trip. There is also plenty of places to secure a bike and safe bike trails leading to the station
A short shuttle ride from BWI airport is this station where a MARC ticket will get you to DC for $8. There’s a scenic boardwalk over the nearby marsh if you have time to kill while waiting for your train. The station has a convenience shop, restrooms, and a waiting area as well as ticket machines, but it’s not open 24 hours so best to have your tickets on your phone.
Small station. Make sure to track the track number on screen. Your hotel Taxi can pick you from here. Use the charmpass app to buy tickets as it is quicker to get discounted tickets.
