By the Pound is a locally owned bulk food store in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. The store sells a variety of items including tea, coffee, herbs, spices, flours, grains, pastas, dried fruit, nuts, snacks and candies. In addition it carries a practical as well as interesting assortment of prepared foods, from fresh pesto to Indian foods, canned tuna and salmon, quality cheese and ice cream. Within its small space is a tremendous collection of everyday items and specialty items, and all at a reasonable price.
