I've had breakfast here multiple times and lunch once, and loved every bit of it. from the homemade jam to the authentic red-skinned home fries, the fresh-squeezed OJ, even to the toast and grits - it is all done well! Being from the south, I especially enjoy the Southern touch, but will say that everything I have seen in this eloquent little haven has been great. Breakfast is not crowded, but lunch and dinner sure can be from the number of cars I have seen outside, so I know that whatever the owner who came out and spoke with me one morning after giving my daugther a rose! is doing, he is doing it right! He even makes his own potato chips!
They may think they have a "Southern Soul" but they certainly don't have southern hospitality. The wait staff appeared busy, but it wasn't taking care of customers. I went out to my car to get a bottle of water. We waited 15 minutes after placing our order to receive the water we asked for and when my daughter finished no one came to ask if she wanted a refill. Initially we were told they were out of home fries which I was told the last time I was there and when I refused the grits miraculously home fries were on my plate. Another couple didn't get there food at all and when they flagged the server down she asked if they wanted their check. To top it off, when I went to pay with a credit card I was asked if I had cash because they were trying to get away from credit cards and soon wouldn't be accepting them. However, the credit card stickers are clearly on their windows announcing that they take them. She said they are trying to get an ATM. Doesn't matter to me, I won't be back.
