We love Cafe Gecko since they opened a couple of years ago, Pizza is super good and the music on the patio makes your dine-in much better and fun
I recently moved into the apartments at Fairview Town Center. I've been trying to get out and visit the shops and restaurants. It's so nice to be able to walk everywhere This was the first time I had ever been to Cafe Gecko. I really chose this place because it has a huge outdoor dining area that's dog friendly. I always have so much to do/errands to run on the weekends and I feel so guilty leaving our dog home alone. It's great to find a place where I can take him with me. My server was Gabrielle and the first thing she asked me was if she could get my dog a bowl of water. I ordered a beer and after she walked away another woman the Manager? also approached my table and asked me about getting my dog water. So, they were very attentive and welcoming to me and my dog. I was torn between getting a burger or the tacos. On the suggestion of my server I ordered the Steak soft tacos. I opted for the spicy ones. My food arrived promptly and hot. I loved the tacos, the steak was tender and had good flavor. It was spicy but not overwhelming so, just right. I think they would be better topped off with a little avocado or cheese. But, they were good. I liked the borracho beans and the pico de gallo. I wasn't a fan of the rice but, I'm just not a fan of that kind of rice anyway. I usually ask for extra beans if some other kind of rice is not available but I forgot. The weather was perfect for sitting on the patio, the prices were reasonable, the service and the food was good. I will definitely be back! Kid-friendliness: There is a huge courtyard area with lawn games and lots of space to run. You could be enjoying a drink or a meal and your children can be playing or running crazy and they would be in your s8ght the whole time. Parking: This is a pretty large shopping center and there's a parking garage as well as ample parking right outside the restaurant.
It was by chance that we walked in here. I thought it was a coffee place and we were greeted by this charming bar and a clean establishment. I was surprised! It was a small sports bar instead. The staff were helpful, quick, and polite. The food was Amazing. I loved their queso. Reminded me of my friends homemade. My husband had the shrimp and mushroom enchiladas and I had never seen him so excited by food. He loved it! I tried the grilled orange chicken. Dont let it through you off when you get it, the chicken was amazing! Rice was good too. If you're in the area, it's a definite try.
We arrived and it was seat yourself . We sat outside and the waiters took a few minutes. We ordered food and Lauren was not knowledgeable about the menu and told us the wrong ingredients. Wrong ingredients for the quesadilla said it was only cheese and chicken….it was not and seafood nachos which included scallops and not lobster like Lauren said…we found out we ate scallops at the end of the meal. Lauren was not technically our waiter, Jessica was. We also saw Lauren who is 19 take shots with customers. We also watched Jessica taking shots with customers instead of checking on us. Lauren put in my order and forgot part of it. They did not provide water when they came to as for our order. The cussing and profanity while speaking to us was unnecessary as well. The manager never came either.
Came in on a Tues to a very slow crowd. 3-4 at the bar. Maybe 3 total families. All already with food. Ordered and food took 20 min to come out for 3 of us. 2 plates were the same. Nothing to explain why so slow. Food was fair. Nothing amazing about it. Did suck seeing your waitress on her phone while we needed water. Not a wonderful experience.
I come here pretty much weekly as I live close…don’t be fooled by the bar, this place has good food! Service is always top notch too. Recommendations I give: 1. Enchiladas 2. Blackened Chicken Sandwich 3. Orange Chicken 4. Seafood Pasta Salad
We went to Cafe Gecko following Critter Club and it was worth the wait. We even got dessert! The food was soooo delish! We sat on the patio. Our service was not the fastest...that's why they gave us free Key Line pie! One of the best things I love about being in Fairview is no one is on their cell phones! Everyone is friendly and engaging to one another. Can't wait to go back!
We have been multiple times now and everytime we go we get completely ignored while we are there. The food is usually good but we end up spending an hour plus here even when there is hardly anyone else around. All while the waiters stand around and talk. Even though this one is closer to the house we go to the one in Richardson now cause it is always a much better experience.
You MUST try the Sour Cream Chicken Nachos or enchiladas. Kelley and her team are awesome! A must-visit in Fairview for happy hour, great food, and good times. Cool atmosphere and tons of TVs to watch the game!
Great place! Awesome food, service, and patio!!!!!! Managers and servers were very attentive and accommodating for our group and we had a great time!!!!Food: 5/5
