After looking for Adana kebabs we found this place it has amazing Adana in Lavash bread. Kebabs come with rice and roasted veges. The chicken kebab platter was juicy and delicious. We also ordered the baklava for dessert with icecream scoop.Food: 5/5
I was really surprised to see a Turkish restaurant in Beverly Hills, so I took the opportunity to stop by. It is obvious I did not eat everything on the menu here but just looking at the food served and the menu layout indicated to me that this restaurant is less about serving authentic food and more about adjusting Turkish food for local taste. I am not writing this as a negative, restaurants do this when trying to reach out to get higher traffic and authentic customers not enough to cover the expenses. So if you are new to turkish food, you can try here, but if you are looking for authentic Turkish food you need to tame your expectations to not to disappoint yourself. Although the prices might look high, I think it was priced right on based on the location. Its Beverly Hills, after all. They have a good selection of Turkish food on the menu as well as some of the non Turkish classic food as burgers and such for less adventurous eaters. I tried Beyti, which is Kabob rolled in a wrap and smothered with tomato sauce . Meat was grilled good, and spices were a little mild side, which was fine. Sauce was a little too runny for my liking, and water was separating on the dish. It came with Yougurt, Rice, Grilled Onion, Tomato and Pepper which were grilled perfectly. Drank Ayran and I have a feeling it was made fresh, but this one was too a little too watery for my liking. Outside seating is limited, inside the tables laid out on each side of the walls and the kitchen is all the way back, so it is a lot of back and forth walk due to layout of the restaurant, also the color is a little too bright. Bench seat was comfortable. Service was great, I was on a business call, and the waitress did her best to attend and not bother me. She did really well. I was a tad disappointed and wanted to order either Kazandibi or Kadayif, but they only had 3 choices on the desert. If I am in the area, I will visit to try some of the other options as well.
Nice cafe setting in the strip of Beverly Hills drive. The waitresses are nice and very sweet ladies who keep the venue very neat. We enjoyed an early dinner date Lamb chops were the best ever non compared to any others we've had even in pricier restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious Turkish coffee and tea! Parking lot is either located on the strip or right next to the cafe their is a lot where you pay $5 p/h. We are definitely going back because it was such an experience,Very much recommended!
While the food is decent in flavor and quality, it is wildly overpriced. To be specific, I ordered a plate that came with hummus and was served one tablespoon of hummus. For a $30+ dish this was disappointing. Staff is very friendly.Food: 4/5
Not only is the food delicious and fairly authentic, but the staff is amazing, personable, attentive, and kind. On this last visit there was no outside seating due to the rain which is where I usual prefer to sit, but the inside was perfectly good as well. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend this restaurant for a good, hearty meal.
Finally found a place that serves good Turkish food in LA! Staff were very friendly and attentive. The Borek was the perfect crispness while the cheese was hot and gooey. I ordered Beef Iskandar Kebab and it was really good. The Manti was also tasty but lacked salt, which is not an issue. Definitely recommend Istanbul Cafe if you are looking for Turkish cuisine.
Perfect lunch! Lunch was great. Atmosphere was peaceful. Service was great as well. Exactly what we needed. We had the vegetarian combo and the donor beef shawarma plate. We also had the moussaka. So good I am gluten free and didn't have any trouble with options and had PLENTY to eat. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
We ordered iskender kebab and a chicken gyro wrap. Iskender kabob - 4/5 Chicken gyro wrap - 2/5 it lacked taste, no sauce The prices are quite expensive but I get it it's Beverly Hills. The girl who served us was very nice but there was another girl with a Russian accent who was annoyed that I inquired if the food is halal during my visit and also by calling them earlier. Im not sure what there to be so annoyed, if you don't like working in a restaurant just quit and do something else. This is my honest review so people can be aware that they would have an encounter with that lady.
The service was really slow and to top it all off there is a bit of plastic in the food that I had. I can't believe they still charged us anything after that. Definitely will not be going again because this was extremely disappointing and dangerous the plastic was sharp.Food: 5/5
I recently visited Cafe Istanbul and was incredibly impressed by the atmosphere and quality of the food. The decor was inviting, with lots of comfortable seating and Turkish-inspired artwork. The menu was varied and the dishes delicious, with lots of options. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ambience was relaxed and laid-back. I would highly recommend Cafe Istanbul to anyone looking for a great place to eat and relax.
