We're a coffee importer/ roaster, that works directly with coffee farmers in Haiti, to create sustainable jobs and bring you their finest Haitian Bean.
Cafe Kreyol’s coffee is grown in the heavy shade and rich clay soil found on the northern limestone mountains of Haiti. The roasted bean has one of the lowest acidity levels in the world and produces a smooth flavor, nutty almond body, and sweet finish. We are currently offering a light, medium, and dark roast.
Our mission is to create sustainable livelihoods for our farmers, provide their children with a hopeful future, and stimulate growth in the Haitian economy.
Creating Sustainable Livelihoods
– Our primary focus in Haiti is to create jobs that will pay workers enough to provide for their families. For many of our farmers, this marks the first time they haven’t had to choose between feeding their families three full meals a day or sending their children to school.
Hopeful Futures
– We made the decision to pay our farmers over 2.5 times the fair trade rate, but with one condition: a portion of the additional money will be used to send their children to school. We know that providing these children with an education is vital to Haiti’s recovering and growth.
Stimulating Economic Growth
– 1788: Demand for Haitian coffee was so high that they were easily the largest suppliers of coffee in the world. 2013: Haiti is still growing the same high quality bean, but the world has overlooked them. It is our desire to bring Haitian coffee back to its former glory by showing the world what this amazing country has to offer.
