Jacqueline Scott is a certified mediator for Cajun Court and not a Louisiana State Court Judge, but will attempt to settle your disputes in her capacity as a mediator on Cajun Court. Mediation is a method by which Ms. Scott will try to get both sides to the dispute to agree upon a settlement. Cajun Court is not an ordinary legal judicial proceeding. It is not filmed at an actual courthouse. The staff members of Cajun Court are not actual courthouse employees.
The participants are not real judicial litigants and have not filed actual cases with the State of Louisiana. Moreover, the ordinary rules of a legal proceeding will not apply in Cajun Court, as this is a dramatized setting. No one on the show will give legal advice.
