Cake Jewel Custom Cakes began soon after Jewel tried her hand at making a birthday cake for her son's 1st birthday, October 2014. Little did she know, she had a natural knack and gift for cake design.
after receiving many compliments and cake requests, she decided to turn it into a home-based business, she applied for her Cottage Food Operator's Permit, business license, insurance and started a CAke Jewel website. She was well on her way. Although she's just starting out and knows she has a long way to go, she is loving and appreciating every moment of the journey including all the learning opportunities and new "Caker" friends she's met along the way.
She has taught classes at the Sacramento Learning Exchange, is ranked in the top 10 of Sacramento's Best Bakeries, was featured on Good Day Sacramento and has competed with a team and won on Food Network's Halloween Wars: Hayride of Horror in October 2017.
