Pulled up for first time, outside looks run down and could be condemnable. Could hear employees talking through the speaker box not at me. Ordered a gyro combo and a regular gyro. Waited forever for our food and the lamb meat was dry and the lemon pepper on my fries was so much I couldn't eat them.Food: 2/5

I was staying at Memorial Hospital with my mother. I was very hungry and I decided to go to California kitchen because it was open late. I could not believe how wonderful the food was. I took it to go the first time and everything was warm and fresh. I cannot believe how much food I got for the price I went back again for lunch and dined in. It was very clean and everyone was so helpful in helping me decide what to get. I wanted to try everything. So far every time I have been there it was consistent and delicious. I will highly recommend this place. I will also try to stop here on a regular basis … I was surprised there wasn’t a tip jar because those guys in the back have a system that works. I tipped them and they said they rarely get tips. I will continue to tip them for the amazing food and great service. I loved their recommended lemon pepper spice on the fries.

My mother and I went here for the first time. The service was excellent. Very friendly. And the food was delicious! I had ordered the California Burger with fries they have crinkled fries. My mom ordered the Buffalo ranch wrap . All of the food was delicious! They also serve big chunk servings of cake , banana pudding, and cheesecake . I will be back for sure! You can eat in or drive- thru.

Delivery Started as of Monday February 8 2021. They got the best homemade food in Springfield IL. I was amazed by how fast the service was done and the food is always fresh. Here is a waleye fish i got recently. Perfect
