Cambridge Common is a very historic and beautiful common to visit. It is plenty big with lots of walking space. The historical plaques and sites here are quite worth seeing!
Although it was cold we enjoyed our time here during golden hour. Plenty to do, a safe one entry/exit fence hedged in climbing hydrangeas, large sandbox and stroller friendly throughout. Looks like there's an awesome water table feature and small splash pad for in-season park going as well. We also noticed many birds.
Awesome park to the Public to gain knowledge and simply relax in the heart of Harvard Square UPDATE : I had went there last night while I was bike riding, on my Standard Peddle Bike and I would not recommend walking through during the night due to lack of light within the Park itself . I STILL recommend checking this Park out though, especially during the Daylight, if your in the Harvard Square Area.
It is a nice park. I like that it is large with several different areas. For instance, you can hang out on the benches, play football or soccer on the grassy part, or take your kids to the playground. There are also often events and people playing musical instruments on the weekend, which can be interesting, and sometimes there are protests and such. A great big park!
It's a little park right by Harvard Square. Lots of college students. There is some room for small games of, say, Frisbee, but it's not a deep woodsy kind of park with lots of lush spaces.
We had a picnic in the park. It was really odd because there were homeless junkies just sleeping on a mattress in the park‍ there were also non looking homeless people just sleeping in the park...like oh I got tired let me just go to sleep in the grass. So weird. The history in the park was amazing! The statues and the stories they told were awesome! Great learning experience for the kids it Boston seriously needs to clean up their parks.
Beautiful public park for walking and recreation while also a remarkable tribute and historic site marking the heart of the American Revolution and where Washington first took command of the revolutionary army. Special bonus is the new monument for the African American soldiers who fought and died in the revolution. So many aspects of this part of American history have been overlooked and underrepresented and this was a touching part of the park.
Great place for children - the play park is very good. Autumn colours are quite spectacular too.
This was a great little park in the middle of a bit of crazy. We parked along the side 25 cents for every 10 minutes with a 2 hour limit tons of history and a pretty cool playground. Had a picnic under the tree that Washington took control of the army under during the Revolution and then walked over the Harvard and strolled around. Very neat, unplanned and unexpected stop on our New England trip.
Really beautiful park in Boston! It is truly beautiful! It is surrounded by the beautiful architecture of Harvard University. There is a really nice playground with a unique set up. It is non traditional in the respect that it is not set up like a normal playground.
