Cambridge Health Alliance is a high-quality and innovative community health system that provides essential services to Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-north communities. It includes three hospital campuses, a network of primary care and specialty practices, and the Cambridge Public Health Dept. CHA is a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate and is also affiliated with Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and Tufts University School of Medicine.
Mission: To improve the health of our communities.
Vision: To be the premier academic public health care system in the nation.
Since its creation in 1996, CHA has worked to achieve its community health mission. In doing so, it has placed special emphasis on maintaining access and enhancing care for vulnerable and diverse patients in the region who traditionally experience numerous barriers to health care. CHA has a robust interpreter services program, bilingual primary care providers, and numerous linguistic programs like the Haitian Mental Health Team (2010 Schwartz Center Compassionate Caregiver). Its award winning Volunteer Health Advisor Program also reaches out to diverse populations to provide education and support.
