My brother went to the ER on 11-14-2022 and was admitted later. The staff were all very professional and all his tests were done in short order except the Covid test that we were told takes an hour to process. Perhaps it should have been done much sooner as I feel this made our ER wait time even longer. I would like to mention one of the night shift security guards, Jay, as he was attentive, brought us water and checked in on us frequently.
I was at the ER on 11-22-22 and I can't say enough about the amazing care I received and how wonderful my nurses and the EMT in training for her Paramedic License were! Dr Ferrebee was absolutely fantastic and even though I got some scary news they made my entire experience so full of compassion and so very thorough with expertise care. Thank you for caring!
Don't trust them to bill you adequate. They change codes on a diagnosis however they want. Also had a routine test done another time and sent pathology out of network. When you call them they just want to tell you how much you can pay monthly. No resolving anything because that would require them doing paperwork
They did not tell us where my mother was after her heart surgery/recovery for over four hours. That information was wrong. A wild goose chase. That floor nurse station did find the correct information for us. Clear back on the other side of he hospital. From 8am to 6pm my dad and I were kept in the dark!
Over 6 hours wait with 3 other people in the ER. We walked past the nurses station and they are all playing on there cell phones. Absolutely disgusted and disappointing choice of a hospital. Might as well stay home and die. Take my advice and stay away from this place at all costs. We only came here for antibiotics for an infection
I was in Camdens ER September 18th after I had fallen and injured my left foot at home. I'm 64. I arrived by ambulance. I couldn't walk at all. The Doctor was professional but came up short on treatment After 3 hours I got the x-ray results. It didn't show a break. I explained that I've had over 20 broken bones in my life and had broken the same foot 30 years ago. I knows it's broke and will be getting further treatment at Marrietta Memoral. The worst part is how my nurse treated me. As soon as they said it wasn't broke she rushed through the discharge papers and told me to slide off the bed and walk to the waiting area for a ride. I tried to walk and the pain was so bad I took a hard fall. The nurse didn't even ask me if I was ok but snapped I'll just get you a wheel chair. No boot, no cast, no crutches. Just a bad attitude and lousy treatment. I hope I never have to go the Camden again and be humiliated like that again. Another thing that was horrible was after I was wheeled into the waiting room I used the phone to try and get a ride home. I had no money and I couldn't walk or hitchhike so I was stuck. The security men treated more like a criminal than a patient. They said I couldn't wait very long in the waiting room since I'd already been seen. I told them I was trying to find a ride but they didn't care. They said after I was done on the phone I'd have to wait outside. A gentleman that was setting near me asked me how much I needed to take a taxi home and I said $20 should do it. The kind man took $20 out if his wallet and gave it to me so I could take a taxi. The security guards saw the man hand me money and rushed over and said I was panhandling and had to leave immediately. I told them I didn't ask for anything, it was offered but they didn't care. So I had to set out in the cold to wait for my taxi. Horrible treatment from the staff and security. I pray to God I never have to go back there ever again.
The CEO of Camden Clark claims that WVU Medicine-Camden Clark is a community hospital. He is absolutely lying to us all. He has no interest in bringing the best care to our community. He only serves his boss the CEO of WVU Medicine in Morgantown. His commitment is to send every patient and their families to Morgantown at the time of every family's greatest need. He has hired more foreign trained physicians who are only seeking green cards and who leave after they get their green cards. This is unprecedented in Camden's history. If he cared he would hire physicians who care about our community and run roots in our community and take care of us for years to come. If you have been a patient or have had a loved one who has recently been a patient at Camden you would know what I am saying. Also, if your care has not been to your satisfaction it is because most who work there don't like working for WVU Medicine or Camden's CEO.
They left my mom in the waiting room for hours tonight with a severe skin reaction that looked like a rash with my almost 70 year old grandmother and when my mom went up to the desk to say she is about to leave for being there so long. The main guy running the waiting room says go ahead leave. I would not recommend going to this hospital ever.
You can do better care on yourself by watching YouTube videos. Go out of state, this place has been run into the ground since WVU bought it. Any people claiming this place "saved" them are just paid actors. I got a shard of glass caught in my hand from falling and breaking a coffee mug, took a risk and watched a YT video on how to safely removed an embedded object, treat any subsequent hemorrhaging and proper bandaging. I'm still alive and it healed properly, plus I don't have $3000 in medical debt. It's sad when YouTube can provide better care than a hospital.
I was a patient at Camden Clark for over a month; requiring two surgeries as a result of MRSA. The nursing staff was wonderful, the lpns, right down to the cleaning personnel. I was surprised at the care I received considering the shortage of workers and staff. Thank you Camden Clark!
