Front Office Operations instruction focuses on all aspects of front office procedures, including PBX telephone systems operations, proper reservations procedures, hotel terminology, salesmanship, departing guest accounts, hotel register, and handling customer complaints. The program includes life skills classes (money management, household budgeting, conflict resolution, time management, self-esteem, goal setting, and communication skills), job readiness classes (resume preparation, interviewing skills, online applications).
184 hours - 7 weeks
The Housekeeping Operations and Maintenance course focuses on hotel property maintenance (guest room setup and breakdown - changing bed linens, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, placing amenities) and common areas (hallways, meeting rooms, lobby, outside areas); room inspection, learning chemicals and their use, inventory accountability, team work and guest relations. The program includes life skills classes (money management, household budgeting, conflict resolution, time management, self-esteem, goal setting, and communication skills), job readiness classes (resume preparation, interviewing skills, online applications).
184 hours - 7 weeks
The Food Service course teaches all aspects of food and beverage service, including hostessing, banquet setup and services, guest/customer service techniques (breakfast, lunch and dinner settings, loading and carrying a tray, taking food and beverage orders), cashiering, customer relations (handling complaints, taking telephone reservations, professional courtesies, server enthusiasm, and anticipating the guest needs), grooming standards and uniforms, and teamwork. The program includes life skills classes (money management, household budgeting, conflict resolution, time management, self-esteem, goal setting, and communication skills), job readiness classes (resume preparation, interviewing skills, online applications).
368 hours - 14 weeks
The Culinary Arts course focuses on food sanitation, knife skills, cooking and baking (using salts, other seasonings, cooking methods - sautés, stocks, sauces, soup making, meats and poultry, potatoes and other starches, fish, salad and dressings, Italian, American and French cuisines, hors d'oeuvres); meal planning (menu preparation, food purchasing, food storage); kitchen teamwork, cleaning, pans, utensils and dish washing.
