Such a nice community! I've seen a lot of smiling faces on my evening walks and bike rides. I've enjoyed hanging out on the benches located around the water and meeting new people. I love seeing people out and about on the golf carts with their little doggies! Truly a nice well kept community.
Very nice senior gated community in convenient location of Sarasota. close to several beaches
This 55+ "manufactured home" community can be very difficult to get access to if you are a trade or service worker. The gates are not always manned and their new call box buttons are sticky maybe "not yet broken in" sticky, but sticky nonetheless. Around 4 45 pm on April 20th, 2022, there was no one at the gate to allow entry. I watched the Garbage truck ahead of me struggle with the call box to enter. I assume this community likes their garbage collected I thought this was strange, then it was my turn. The call box ... these are never easy, but this one...the keys kept sticking. It took a few tries to get it to call the resident, who, unfortunately was waiting for me outside and wasn't by their phone. While I was making my second attempt to use the call box, I had the pleasure of being told off by the car behind me. I'm just a trade, ya know, not worthy of respect or kindness the same respect I was shown was returned. Reality to the not deserving a bit of kindness worker thing... is ... I am a fully booked mobile pet groomer in an area that does not have nearly enough mobile pet groomers. I have been fully booked for 8 years. It is rare that I can take on a new customer. I had recently added a Camelot resident to my client list. I tried to talk to the property manager about what happened. She was condescending and rude. I was informed that if I wanted to service Camelot, I would need to fill out paperwork. I serve Longboat Key with zero difficulty. If there are gate keepers and property managers at my Longboat stops, they are fabulous, helpful, kind, and zero paperwork is required. Camelot, a "manufactured home community " nice words for an expensive 55 plus trailer park on the other hand, doesn't bother to consistently staff it's gates, is not easy to get into with a vehicle the fence looks easily scalable, so this is a "prestige gate" as opposed to a real "security gate" and management is condescending to service workers. For the above reasons, I no longer offer service at Camelot. The power tripping, condescending manager and unreliable gate service is basically a trailer park "putting on airs" and treating trades the way they think wealthy people treat tradespeople. The truth is the staff where the truly affluent live know how important tradespeople are to the business of day to day living and treat us tradespeople and service workers kindly.
Susan should not be in charge neighbors looking at you taking pictures I have a video of Susan making me pick up bread off the ground hurt wrist had to go to the hospital Susan has no compassion bad lady don't.move there
They take excellent care of the property, it's secure, peaceful and full of great reasons to stop during a busy day and let the captivating scenery remind you that quiet moments still exist. It's awesome. Folks smile and wave, the lakes are alive with beautiful swans, ducks and amazing examples of very well protected wildlife. And it's a great place to watch pastel sunsets and blazing sunrises.
My wife and I have a lovely bungalow in Camelot Lakes Village. We have owned it for nearly 4 years. The community is a wonderful establishment that offers as many opportunities as one chooses to participate. The location is ideal and close to businesses and easy access to I-75. We have met many wonderful neighbors and seasonal residents. Of the many retirement parks we have looked at, we still feel Camelot Lakes Village trumps all of them. Couldn't be more pleased. We bought in Camelot Lakes Village in Sarasota 2 years ago. We were thrilled. We’re not anymore. The office staff is behind locked Club House doors due to some “threat” that the community is not made aware of, therefore blocking entrance to utilize it. The benefits have taken a real downturn in the last several months. Facilities are now 3rd rate at best. Many don’t exist anymore. Maintenance is sketchy at best and pretty much depends on WHO you are, not what’s needed. There are virtually no community activities unless they are the routine pickle ball, etc., that takes no planning efforts at all. The “gated security” has gone by the wayside in spite of the fact that there is someone living here wanted by the police and the courts. It’s in shambles. And yet our lot rent keeps going up up up.
I have lived in Camelot Lakes Village for 5 years and visited family living here for several years prior. I love it here. It isn’t without its faults. But as a Home owner I try to be part of the solution rather than the problem. I participate in activities/ assist with them. Presently president on the HOA board of directors. I feel management strives to do their best with the resources they have. I do feel since we are larger than Camelot Lakes East. We should have one more staff at least for assisting with facility maintenance/mainly cleaning of pools/x2. Two buildings/actually 3 as workout room is separate. I will be bringing this up to manager at our next Village manager meeting this month. She takes time out of her schedule to meet with myself and another director once a month. Management also comes out once a month to assist the Community Beautification committee/made up of willing neighbors-that go out and help clean up a yard of a resident who isn’t capable physically. We work side by side. As I mentioned. No place is perfect. We have some things to work on and little by little change happens. This is a beautiful village even with its challenges. The people are great. We have fun activities that have started up as of last October. As everywhere-things were closed for a time due to pandemic our Village has had many new residents move in. They are excited about living here and being part of helping our community grow. It’s so much fun to go to “parkway party” with a DJ playing great music. Wonderful food truck serving up Yummy food and getting out connecting with neighbors. My husband and I plan on living here for the long haul. He loves Pickleball and plays almost everyday!!! This is truly a wonderful place to live. I can’t wait for the midnight swim this month on the Full moon night. Management let’s us use the pool till midnight. So much fun!!
I love this development. Their are so many attractive perks offered in this community . I hope to be able to afford a vacation home here, in the very near future.
Do Linda and Denise really want to sell homes??? First of all, I called Linda 2x to let her know my friend who was in Sarasota was coming in 2 days to look at several homes and she never called me back??? Then after talking to Denise and confirming an appt., she never shows and my friend had to call her?? Waited 20 mins. for her to arrive!!! These people are so unprofessional!!! Thank you for showing me your true colors!! So happy I found a home and no lot rent of almost $1,200 a month! DO NOT BUY! Complete rip-off!
