The homeless situation makes a terrible place to bring your kids ,an make the park feel unsafe. It's a shame our city leaders have not done anything about this
This isn't a very easy place to bring toddlers 2.5 or younger, but the playground is great for children older than tots. The park is usually quite clean. Good place for picnics. It now has a pair of swing sets with two baby swings. This park had become quite popular locally.
I love to visit this farmers market! Wonderful produce, meat and cheese, and delicious things like scones and brownies! Fantastic hardy plants for sale at reasonable prices and live music. The atmosphere is very friendly and positive. I've been going for years. EBT is accepted at the Managers Booth. I definitely recommend a visit!
Weak, not much there. Surprisingly small and poor selctuon for a town this size. Virtually no local farm presence. Looked like a few families reselling wholesale purchases. No heirloom tomatoes, no lettuce. Prices decent, I guess, but nothing looked special. Not worth a detour.
Nice little park in downtown area. Especially during the summer weekends.
There were only two vegetable vendors 7/2, but their selection was good. Lots of craft vendors though, including pies and other sweet treats along with preserves.
Great place to go on Fridays after work for food and fresh produce. I do wish it was more of a daily fixture with other fresh options and more of a variety like they do in some other places in the country. It's just a lot of the same produce items. I get that its nice to have options to choose from but I wish it was more of a variety of different items altogether. I miss the farm fresh eggs too. I would love to see duck eggs there too. I'm surprised I've never seen them there.
This park is known locally as Squirrel Park, and there is plenty of seating and the park is well maintained. The only negative I can think of is sometimes you have to pick your seating differently if bees are dining on some open containers in the trash bins, which by the way are emptied regularly so no fault with the city on that point. It is also the hub of the Farmer's Market and major donations made by Paul and Sue Hanifl have made the market a happening place. I am pleased to say my family name adorns the infrastructure and I feel connected. I used to live very near this park and have traveled through it and used it countless times.
The variety of vendors is really something to see. The entertainment in the park nearby adds to the atmosphere for a fun experience at a city park. Such fresh, beautiful food and flowers right out of the local farmers' gardens and fields. I love the maple syrup, honey, eggroll, bison meats, and vegetable vendors. Artisans are there with their jewelry and other crafts. I even saw clowns, a kids' violin class giving a recital, and dancers!
Parking is horrendous here. Unsafe street parking or pay to park in the ramp. They also close off safe parking where the vendors set up that can be used to visit other businesses at 1pm when the market doesn't open until 4pm. They need a new, safer venue.
