In honor of a loved one who passed away we had his services at this location in the Tanager area. We had a large BBQ before the service allowing for people to make it ontime and to enjoy a great meal with fellowship, as the loved one would want. The area was clean, there was a volleyball area, and a brief walk to the shore line for easy access to the lake and plenty of picnic table seating. This was a half day event and was a wonderful way to say goodbye. I have been to Shaver Lake before, and there are many areas around the lake that will be amazing to see. This lake is a must visit. So much to do. Visit the website to see all that it has to offer. Add it to your bucket list.
Place was really nice had some great views. Easy access to the lake. The restrooms were very clean glad they had showers at an extra price of course. The only negative I would give it was to many campsites you have people on all sides of you and close too. Just need to drive around to figure out which campsite is more secluded for next trip. Yes will definitely be back
We just visited this week before July 4th 2023. Our party, 2 adults. 4 kids, were heading to a different campsite but decided to swing by Shaver Lake after seeing on the Camp Edison site that they had 2 spots open. The woman at the front entry, Renee was so incredibly helpful and friendly. She suggested the better spot for us with 1 RV and 2 tents. Our kids had such a great time that after 2 nights we decide to stay one more. A young guy at the front desk whose name I didn’t catch, went out of his way to suggest sites that were open for 1 night. I read some reviews about staff being unfriendly. We never saw this. Everyone we talked to was so nice and kind. One member of staff even gave our dog treats. The campsites themselves are well maintained. Full of nature, clean bathrooms and showers. Lots of firewood. Basic supplies at the store. We rode our bikes all over the grounds and rented a boat at the marina. It was a beautiful vacation and we will most certainly return.
The restrooms are surprisingly super clean for the park. The environment is absolutely stunning with great views, friendly ducks, great patio for picnics. Absolutely love this place.Service: 5/5
I mean it's basically the same as getting here earlier and getting a spot on the lake. The only difference is they might have a better bathroom for the women to use. A boat launch for hundreds to cause racket & disturb the stillness, peace and quiet of the lake. I wouldn't pay for a season pass for this place. I can imagine camping here but not day usage. If you get a season pass make sure you have your second person with you because their condition is having all your license plates to have them come into their park registered whereas if you don't you can't add them later to it. I think I waited a shift change to learn more information on this & decided eh this isn't for me and pulled out of the park to find a quieter place. There's if not more crowds but just the same crowds of people except they pay Uncle Sam to get in. That's about it.
Compared to other campsite in the area, this campground is expensive. But you are close to the lake. There is a very cute little museum at the front that we enjoy visiting. The staff is always nice and helpful. Nearby activities: Lake activities such as boating, swimming, and fishing.
We camped for 4 days. Lots #2, 5, 6. We were right by the restroom and showers be sure to buy a shower card when you check in. Outlets at every site. Nice camp ground.Location: 5/5
Great place to take the family or just for 2. Its safe and Shaver lake has very pristine water fed from the mountain snow melt. Very beautiful and safe from the city crazies.Service: 5/5
Great campground! Wonderful vamp hosts. The restrooms are always nice and clean. Shaver lake is beautiful! Nearby activities: Boating, hiking and camping
Very nice lake with hungry fish and lots of shoreline for swimming and paddleboarding. Noteworthy details: Camping...bring a tent or trailer. Store at entrance and store and restaurants in town nearby.
