Camp Grizzly on the Palouse River

About

Welcome to Camp Grizzly, "Pride of the Palouse"!

Description

Camp Grizzly is located 17 miles east of Potlatch Idaho next to Laird State Park. Camp Grizzly, originally known as Camp Lair, was donated by the Potlatch Forest, to the Inland Empire Council in 1938. The first parcel consisting of 40 acres was dedicated on Father's Day June 17, 1938.

Camp Grizzly has evolved from a small unimproved camp to a jewel in the Council's camping crown. It has a large lodge/dinning hall, trading post, handicraft area, waterfront, shooting sports ranges, nature/scoutcraft areas and twelve great campsites, which support 200 campers each week.

In 2011, Camp Grizzly held 5 weeks of Boy Scout Summer Camp and 1 week of Cub Scout Camp. Over 800 Scouts and 240 Adult Volunteers attended Boy Scout Summer Camp this year. 2011 was also the inaugural year for the new ATV program.

Great Camp, facilities, program and staff! Our troop had a great time and I am sure we will be back!
Great little campground perfect for swimming, camping, and canoeing! My favorite part is the foosball table at the lodge. If you're in the Moscow, Potlatch, Lewiston, or Harvard area and looking for camping, I recommend this alot!
My son got married to the live of his life. It was the perfect spot. It had the kitchen and camping area. So perfect for the occasion.
Beautiful facility. Great for scouts, but also inexpensive to rent for a large group. The kitchen and lodge facilities are awesome. Porta-potties at campsites were clean and well maintained. AT-like shelters as well as tent platforms.
Great Scout camp with paddle-sports, shooting sports, STEM, and a rounded program for environmental sciences and scoutcraft. Great for first-year through Eagle with programs limited to older Scouts like ATV safety and Black-Powder. Adult leadership and training also available. All on a compact footprint with a maximum 10min walk from 1 side of camp to the other. A maximum population of 250 or so gives a good instructor to student ratio.
Friendliest staff i have ever seen at a camp. Great merit badge opportunities and the ATVs are rely fun. You can ride around on mountain bikes, whether you rent one or bring your own.
It was decent but I had to switch classes and it was hot and the allergies were every where would maybe go again
We have held several family reunions at Camp Grizzly. This is by far the most accommodating camp we have ever used. It has so many amenities and has served our family well. We love Camp Grizzly!
Most kid friendly summer camp I have ever been to. If you are sick of camps that are "No running in camp!" then you need to go here. The boys are encouraged to use their mountain bikes to get around. bring your bike Meals are all started with the staff yelling CHARGE! and the boys all run 150 yards to the dining hall. This is also a great place for scouts with disabilities, special diets etc.
Always a treat to return to Camp Grizzly. Learned to swim here and qualified for numerous merit badges need for Eagle Scout. Inducted into the Order of the Arrow here. Made friendships that have lasted years. Grizzly always had a first class staff. True in my day and true today.
