Looks like a fun summer camp! I'm a delivery driver and roll up on the camp at least 3 times a week. The staff is amazing and super helpful! The kids seem to be having a great time when I'm there delivering. The atmosphere is amazing, and the property is gorgeous! If you're looking for a place to escape the kids or for the kids to escape you, this place seems legit. Summer fun!!!
My daughter loved it. She was older starting out. Everyone made her feel at home and like she had been going for years.
Went to this camp as a youth back in the mid 90s. I remember the camp being mostly fun, and being freely allowed to go about the camp doing whatever we pleased during off hours. Had lessons in horseback riding, bug collecting, etc. Was rewarded free admission to the camp in a random lottery draw as an elementary school student sponsored by the local police department.
Was very fun but could use some renovation. Some of the cabins did not have air conditioning and the showers were dirty. The girl's bathroom had some with spiders and was kind of small for everyone. But the staff was very nice and the actvities were fun. It may need more funding. Upgrading the cabins and such. Overall though it was fun. The pool is nice. It is nice and I would go again.
My daughters love this place. They have done resident camp and day camp, and both are great. And there is no phone signal, so they are forced to unplug! The counselors and the people in charge are great too. And the location, next to a state park is awesome.
My son 6 spent a week here. He had fun. We sent him well prepared but when picking him up we saw that they did not assist him AT ALL for packing up to leave. I had to go through a lot of stuff just to verify he had all of his belongings.
Ir is heart-warming to see and hear that Camp Hantesa is still going strong. I spent time over 7 summers here 1_8 weeks/summer. It is not an exaggeration to say that my experiences here, over 50 years ago, shaped my development as a woman and a leader and quite probably saved my life.
Great programs for kids and teens year round. Summer camps at Hantesa are full of fun and creative activities. Plenty of outdoor time, a good balance of team and individual activities. I highly recommend it, either for day camp, overnights, or resident camps.
For all your Camp and Conference needs. As long as your not searching for 3-5 star style accommodation but are looking to get away with a group or staff retreat, without technology taking over little to no cell service area in most camp area then Hantesa is right for you. top notch program staff and above the top team building adventures. outside of summer this is a perfect spot for a company or small to large group retreat.
Sending my son here in a few weeks. hopefully he has a great experience like me and my wife did back in the 90s
