The best camp in America! I've worked at three US summer camps and this is by far the best. I encourage all of my clients' kids to come to Camp Pontiac to experience the summer of a lifetime!
If I could rate this place any lower I would. I worked the summer of 2021 where the whole camp got shut down due to a huge covid outbreak, the way they handled that whole situation was terrible left all the counselors out to dry and didn’t tell us anything about what was going on. While working at Pontiac I was injured while working there and was told that they would pay my medical bills in full. After I went to the doctor to handle said injury and went to send them the information to handle the billing Michael Etra the Director of the camp blocked my phone number and quite a few other counselor with concerns from Pontiac’s numbers
Beautiful campsite with the most gorgeous sunsets around! Can locate hundreds of kids and it is huge! There are endless opportunities for all kinds of sports and arts, and the woods surrounding the camp are gorgeous and are perfect for trips. Suitable for all ages. Staff is very friendly and the food is good for the most part. You can spend your whole summer here and not get bored
Worked here for 4 years and had the best time of my life
The people who run this place are absolutely horrible humans. They didn't plan for the lack of counselors and worked who they had to the bone, WITHOUT PAYING THEM EXTRA, let potential campers' families tour the place and ended up with a Covid outbreak, screamed at the hardworking counselors they had, fired those who complained about the double hours without fair compensation, canceled camper activities but still charged parents full-price, and now have left counselors stranded at airports because they didn't bother to get them there in time for their flights. These people obviously care only about money, and they don't deserve yours. ETA: The owner's son has serious anger issues. I would never send my young kids back to this place, and I would strongly suggest to my adult children that this isn't the place to work. Ask any counselor who worked there the summer of 2021, especially the many who were fired for complaining about double the work hours without compensation and those who stayed without promised bonuses being paid. This place needs to be stopped. One counselor was fired for letting two campers use his phone after they texted their parents to be to be picked up because they were miserable.
The most amazing camp grounds I've ever seen in NY.
About to work my 3rd summer, and I can honestly say I have never been more grateful to have found a such an amazing company, with incredible management, and insane kids, even over 3,000 miles away from my home. Highly recommend for any child or aspiring counselor. The camp is family run, and they go to great lengths to make sure everyone feels like they're apart of the family too. Go to Pontiac once, and I guarantee you'll be Pontiac forever!
I came here for a 5 day sports camp. Everyone was nice and the outdoor place is beautiful BUT overall the food was pretty disgusting, the water is unfiltered and foggy and the bunks were disgusting examples: mold in the shower, dust everywhere and the beds are hard as rocks!.
Great facility for a sleep away camp.
Best camp ever great experience working with them i will miss this place
