This was a really nice Camp ground. The lots are really big and level, especially when there is no race happening. I’m sure if every space was filled it would be a lot of people. They do have a laundry room and a playground and they have trash pick up . I wish they had a pool! This campground is directed towards the race. We did hear cars practicing during the day which wasn’t a problem for us. Someone may not like that, so just an FYI. There is not much shade. The only problem we had was the sewer hookups. They don’t have any thread for you to screw in your sewer cap, and they are elevated. So you will need something heavy to put on your hose base so it does not come out. Other then that it was great and there is so much to do around that area. It’s in a great location! We will be back! I Nearby activities: Tons of stuff to do nearby!! Safety: I felt safe where we were! Walkability: Definitely walk ability to the races Food & drinks: Tons of restaurants near by
Location is great if you are visiting race shops and museums, or seeing a race. Price was good with Good Sam discount, but we were not there for a major race. We are 60 ft overall with our car trailer and fit fine in a pull thru. No shade and when there's drag racing you can hear it, but it does say racing in the name of the campground, so you should expect that could happen. My husband was thrilled when we found races happening there even though they weren't shown online. It was handy to have laundry facilities there and the machines were in good working condition, but the washers and the room badly need cleaning. They have a sign saying they're not responsible for the machines, but I'm not sure who's responsible for cleaning? I wiped dog hair off the black rubber washer gasket and when the rubber pulled back a little something caught my eye. I cleaned gobs of hair, slime, a baby sock, a battery and a hunk of plastic out of two of the three washer's and then took a pic of the third washer. The carpet was covered in hair and debris too. Overall it was a good place for us and I'm sure we'll be back.
Very clean and well run campground. Spots are huge and streets are paved and spots are crushed blue stone.. Each spot comes with large 6' aluminum picnic tables. Laundry room on premise with showers and bathrooms. Clean and well maintained playground, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, horse shoes, and sand volley ball court. Check in was easy and seemless. Located near everything charlotte speedway, Charlotte drag strip, and Charlotte dirt track. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Full hook up is great.. wifi worked pretty well. 24 hour security. I do wish they allowed golf carts even though everything is very close its still alot of walking.
This was a very nice RV site good space. I would have loved some shade, but that was more just being the hottest months. The dog park was great size, all grass and staff managing areas were friendly and always helpful. You also had everything you needed + close byRooms: 5/5
Great place to stay. Be aware that if you use a GPS to get to the Campground, do not go to where the pin takes you for the final location. You turn off the main road at the Drag racing track to get into the entrance.Rooms: 5/5
**UPDATE**. Returned for 2023 and I am in the same spot. The area is much improved from cigarette butts and a gentleman was actively picking up trash from the grounds. I have increased my rating from 4 to 5. I attend the NASCAR fall race every year and I love this campground. The spaces are large, gravel sites with plenty of room for the 38' camper and 2-3 vehicles plus room to spare for the campfire. I have not had any issues with the utilities and have seen issues repaired quickly at a neighboring site. The location is in walking distance to the track and the Concord area is an easy drive even with the traffic. I do only give 4 stars because of the ongoing battle with the cigarette butts I have to pick up every year. The staff says they inspect the sites, pick the butts up and charge the previous tenant $30 but last year I pick up at least 3 cartons worth and there were still more. If not for this issue, definitely a 5 star worthy location.
Camp spots within 600 ft of drag entrance. All blue stone sites with asphalt roads. Clean, mostly quiet consider it's a racetrack onsite camp area. Go every year ! Worth the cost for such good accommodations.Rooms: 5/5
This is a campground connected to the whole SMI conglomerate run by the Smith family. We've stayed here often and highly recommend this campground. They have all amenities and can accommodate RVs of all sizes... Race teams stay here, so you know they've gotta have plenty of room. Convenient to Charlotte Motor Speedway, Zmax Dragway, the dirt track, etc. Convenient to all kinds of shopping, activities, and Concord Mills mall. Pets are currently allowed, but if lazy, irresponsible pet owners continue to let their dogs out without a leash, and don't pick up after their pets when they poop... Management will have no choice but to change to a "no pets" policy. We are responsible pet owners and I'd hate to have slackers ruin it for the rest of us!
Amazing location if you're attending an event at the ZMAX dragway. We have a beautiful spot that's close to the bathrooms and close to the entrance. Bathrooms are nice. Policies aren't too strict and are just strict enough to keep things nice - even during major events!Rooms: 5/5
Very basic its a gravel parking lot with rv hook ups if you're there for an event it's the basics you'll need to have a place to sleep and hang out The bath house is huge and kept cleanService: 4/5
