Home to over 40 different varieties of tamales, including a local favorite, the Nicaraguan nacatamal. With locally grown natural ingredients, we make all of our dishes from scratch using homemade masa, tortillas, and five varieties of salsa. All of our dishes are free of MSG and other preservatives. Most of our dishes are gluten free (and those that aren't can be made so upon request). Any of our foods can be made solely from organic ingredients for a small fee. Several vegan and vegetarian dishes available. We deliver and do catering. Find us at many of the farmer's markets and festivals around Oregon.

We loved service of the owner. The presentation of the food wasn't great but I do know he had a new cook. The steak burrito I had was was big and very flavorful. The Tortilla soup was a bit on the spicy side for my granddaughter. The grilled asparagus and shrimp dish was really good but a little heavy on the Chipotle for my wife. If we are by that way again I will stop by for another meal. Parking: Limited parking right outside the restaurant.
This hidden treasure is a place you don’t need to go to if you’re in a hurry, or want your traditional sit down restaurant. - AMAZING TAMALES - AMAZING LIMEADE, and their Horchata is out of this world with flavor that will take you to a tropical paradise. - Asparagus that’s greener than any you’ve seen before with a slight crunch when you bite down that’s full of flavor. - Their salsa is flavorful, fresh, and homemade. - Rice & Beans are exquisite The food was above average, it was authentic, very delicious. Don’t let their prices differ you, as when you get your plate get ready for your taste buds to be opened up and take you for a wild ride. I have read the negative reviews, and came to the conclusion that everyone is entitled to they’re own opinion. However, don’t let those scare you away as most thing of a restaurant as a Olive Garden and not a traditional family owned establishment that’s satisfied with their own ways.
Charlie is a gruff adorable owner who will make your mouth happy w/ tamales of every kind. Be patient, find a seat and he will be w/you asap. There is a yellow menu for take outfrozen tamales or a hot meal on the two regular menus. Frozen tamales come in 4 packs and are individually large. And the margaritas come w/ chili salt on the rim. Great atmosphere and fun to watch Charlie interact w/other customers. Love this place, will return soon!
The Google 3 star rating is very, very generous for this freaky joint. Cluttered, dirty, dusty, grimy, soiled. Tiny, VERY OVERPRICED portions. A bizarrely aggressive-turned-scary, short older man who seemed to hate us at first sight. He yelled at his wait staff. His rank body odor funk was at a level that we had to hurry, pay and bolt asap. Foul experience. Surreal, Was it Halloween, was it a nightmare or was it ... the Canby Asparagus Farm?
First time trying it, the food is way overpriced the rice was either old or burnt and it tasted funky, too much onion or garlic??? Idk, the beans were whatever, the poblano rajas tamal was inedible I forced myself to take a second bite then threw it away, the chicharrón tamal was edible but the meat was kind of dry, the owner seemed nice to me, but overall I will not be going back.
Don't bother with this place. Food is overpriced and not good. Was expecting the tamales to be fresh/good, considering it's in the name, but was extremely disappointed. Much better Mexican food just up the road on Main...Food: 1/5
The best tamal I have ever had! Moist masa and plenty of chicken and asparagus filling with green sauce, perfectly cooked and seasoned black beans and Spanish rice. I am definitely coming back!Food: 5/5
Great local spot. Quirky, but wholesome. Ordered chips and salsa, chorizo and asparagus plate and one grilled veggie tamale. The asparagus was charred perfectly, the chorizo was crisp, homemade tortillas were warm, salsa was hot and chips were fresh. Plus margaritas were strong. Highly recommend!
At Milwaukie Farmer's Market location. My omelet was exceptional, loaded with fresh veggies, and worth the wait. His pork tacos were "pretty ok".
We were served on paper plates, were treated rudely by the owner who said something about flies when we walked in ! and after he served me the wrong tamale he didn’t follow through by bringing the correct order like he said he would. This was hands down THE WORST dining experience I’ve had anywhere in the world. The food is mediocre at best and is ridiculously over-priced. Bad/rude service. The owner made us feel very unwelcome and we were the only 3 people there in the height of a lunch hour that was our first sign. Tamales aren’t good and honestly I find frozen store-bought tamales tastier. Spare yourself. I’d give this place a minus review if I could.
