The Cancer Center Community Crusaders is a not-for-profit group comprised of private citizens in and around Bennington County, VT.
Crusading Crews, representing local clubs, businesses, families, organizations, church groups and survivor support groups conduct fundraising and awareness events throughout the year to collect funds to support the overall mission of the group.
The premier event of the year is the Community Remembrance and Cupcake Crusade, held this year on May 31, 2014. This family-friendly event is a celebration of the efforts the crusading crews make throughout the year and a time to show community support for those fighting cancer. It is also a chance to remember those who have been lost and to honor those who are fighting. Games, activities, music and entertainment are enjoyed all afternoon. Following the day's celebration, a special candlelight remembrance ceremony is held at dusk. The tribute display remains in place for the annual Survivor's Day Picnic hosted by the SVRCC the following day.
The Cancer Center Community Crusaders provides financial, physical, and emotional support to members of the community and their families as they strive to obtain the best cancer care and treatment possible. The group also allocates a portion of the funds it raises to support local and regional research efforts to end cancer. All funds raised stay right here in the community that the SVRCC serves.
