Played at Heron Bay during our trip to Georgia. Rained all day the day before so the course was wet and cart path only. First time playing here and would have liked better conditions. The course was fantastic! Loved it! The club house is beautiful and the pro shop is well stocked. We had the first tee time and the woman behind the counter couldn't have been any friendlier. Enjoyed talking with her. The course was in great shape even with the amount of rain the day before. we play lift, clean and place so it helped with the conditions. The fairways were in good condition. Not real wide at times and tree lined. Plenty of bunkers to take into consideration protecting the greens. Water came into play a few times as well. Lots of elevation changes and views! The greens were not flat with plenty of ridges and slopes to contend with. Some of the tee boxes could have used a little TLC but overall good condition. The course winds through a housing division so there is a some driving at times between holes. All in all I am definitely coming back to Georgia just to play this course under better weather! If you want a good challenge and fun course this is the one to play!
I love the course but the management is beyond piss poor. I’ve had multiple issues management wise playing here; they have completely not had my tee time twice, booked a tournament the day we had a tee time and never reached out and told us, and now today we were supposed to tee off at 9:10 and didn’t hit a shot until 9:45 and eventually stopped playing at 2:00 after playing 15 holes because there were 3 groups on every tee box. Holiday or not, there is 0 reason why there should be this bad of pace or play with no repercussions from the course management. I likely won’t be back until they can sort through their obvious management issues.
We played HB this morning on 9/10/23. The lady in the pro shop was kind enough to sell me a bucket of balls then tell me to grab balls from the large buckets already on the range. Not a big deal since it’s only a few dollars. We get out on the course and while the tee boxes and fairways are in decent shape the greens are rough. They are in really bad shape with large pockets of grass missing. If the greens were in good shape the $69 to play would have been a decent deal but I feel like the rate wasn’t appropriate for the condition.
Played on 13 August 2023. $69. Range balls included. Don't seem to have a real pro shop/learning center. It was cart path only due to overnight rain. Have played at least a dozen rounds there, back when it was in the Canongate group. Course in pretty good shape. Greens were slow and unmowed, bunkers were not raked, likely due to the rain. A number of very pretty holes overlooking the reservoir. Clubhouse under repair/renovation so there was no snack bar/restaurant, and the rest rooms were all torn up. Staff very helpful and nice. Cart died and it only took them a few minutes to get us another one. Carts could use GPS, although I have my own. Quite a long course at over 6500 from the member tees, with the senior tees around 6000. They could use a blended set. Overall a reasonable value for $69.
Nice and golfer friendly course with well kept greens.
This course could be rated much higher . Had no restaurant or bar .no real selection of drinks in Clubhouse...and the greens were in worsted shape then some cow pasture courses I have played . Great views...but too expensive for what it looks like
Visited as a DJ for an 80th birthday party celebration. Service was great, staff was amazing.
Fun and challenging course. 4/5 stars simply because the course looked a bit “forgotten”. Greens were great and it wasn’t packed, but the landscaping could use a lot of work
Played a Tournament and was very pleased with the way the Staff handled the group, we will come back and look forward to the nice greens again
Long and challenging course. Greens are in good condition. Clubhouse is a great place to grab a meal pre-round or a drink afterwards. No beverage cart during weekday rounds, maybe during weekends so I would ask. The back 9 is a bit tougher than the front, overall a great golf course
