Great use of space, very comfortable feel, sound quality was great, for a simple community experience. The total opposite of plastic seats and chemical popcorn, and there is no bad seat in the house.
It is comfortable here my date even took a nap. Staff are friendly and down to earth. Great Sundance movies. So well decorated
Great move and wonderful staff. Unfortunately the elevator was out of order and my guest had to struggle up the stairs, but she made it. The ‘little’ room is just that. Twenty seats +- and small square room. The need to look up a bit to see the whole screen was not comfortable for my neck. I’ll make sure to see my next shows in the ‘BIG’ room.
What if you could have a movie theater in your living room? That's what this is like! The place is furnished with couches, recliners etc. There always a fresh line-up of Indie movies not readily available in other theaters. But that's not to say they don't get major new releases. They do! The ticket price is super reasonable, the staff is great. Not many places like this left!
A great indie movie theater! I've been a couple times with my mom who loooooves this spot--they have indie films, and often have events with a producer, actor, director, or someone speaking to the film you just watched. You basically sit in couches and chairs that have been donated, it's not stadium seating, it's on the second floor and is pretty small, but it's a cool, funky space. The snacks are normal-theater-prices, BUT they have local snacks and wine. They don't always run on time, but it's a wonderful gem of a movie theater on Cape Ann.
I love the tea in real china cups and the comfy couches, some with coffee tables. You can bring in you own food and you can buy beer or wine if you want to. Before the feature film they show interesting shorts that I always enjoy. You can see movies here that you can't see at mall theaters. Support this cinema, it's a real gem.
Best thing about this local movie house are the big comfy chairs and couches, the mini-bar with beer and wine and the ability to sit with a full house and watch a movie, but in the comfort of what feels like your livingroom! Fun ~ funky ~ and oh so cool.
A "living room" theater with mostly couches for seating, real popcorn, and a bar with beer and wine. The screen is not exactly gigantic, but the projection quality is fine. The selection of movies is artsy and eclectic, comparable to the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square.
There needs to be a sign at the top of the stairs, out side the door, informing patrons that, to buy tickets, they need to enter the door, QUIETLY, if there is another movie going on, and buy their tickets at the bar to the right. It is an unusual setup and needs some explanation for new patrons. We travelled from far to see the movie , arrived 1 1/2 hours early, but did not know to go inside, while another movie was playing , to get tickets. When we came back 20 minutes before the show, it was sold out. There were no signs to indicate that one should enter the theatre itself to get tickets at the back of the open room forum. There WAS a sign that asked to not disturb the ongoing performance, which I respected by not entering the theatre/living room, figuring we would get tickets just before the show time. The two ladies there were dismissive and defensive about my complaint that the situation was misleading and that they needed better signage. Obviously I was upset with the situation and probably caused them to be defensive. For my part, I offer my apologies I give one star only to attract attention to what I feel is an important point. I never had the opportunity to evaluate the entire experience.
Visit this local gem ASAP! They have great cinema selections in a fun atmosphereand the owners are really sweet. They are even working on BYOB to keep the customers happy. There are too few places like this around. Support them by treating yourself to a night of cinema.
