Friendly, caring staff and excellent facilities. One of the most beautiful hospitals in America. The recovery rooms have views of the water with pelicans and dolphins playing.
I brought my husband here after getting in an accident in his one wheel that left him with a dislocated wrist with some breaks and two broken ribs. He had some x-rays done and a ct scan. The dr and nurse reset his wrist and wrapped it in a splint and stressed to him he needed to see an orthopedic. The orthopedic they recommended him to looked at his X-rays and told him he needed to see a hand specialist. He got an appointment with one and he was in shock that the hospital had the obligation to fix my husbands AT THE HOSPITAL but didn’t. So now my husband has to wait to get a surgery that should have happened the same night we went to the hospital. The hand specialist seemed pretty upset about this and wanted to know who the Dr was that saw my husband. And I’m not to happy either and neither is my husband. While the staff was very pleasant I’m afraid they weren’t very thorough. Not a very good experience. It’s sad that people we depend on with our lives and our health and well being can’t provide the proper care.
My father was taken here due to a medical emergency. The staff took the upmost care of him by giving him dignity, around the clock care, and most of all respect not only for him but our family. The nurses were very informative and the emergency surgeon was very professional. The peaceful scenery gave me serenity in the midst of the worst time of my life, from the beautiful ocean and palm trees, to the playful dolphins and docile manatees sporadically scattered around the shore. I will forever be thankful to the people who cared for my father in his last days on earth.
I recently made a trip to CCH emergency room. My experience was 5 star from the moment I walked in the door. Everyone from the security guy, the receptionist, triage rn, the lab tech, and the X-ray tech was very sweet and caring. The real rock stars though were my nurse Shane, my PA Hall I hope I have her name correct and Dr. Walker. They were concerned yet reassuring, and most importantly they got me feeling better and out of there fairly quickly. While they did testing that was necessary, they didn’t keep me around and do a bunch of extra labs or anything to run up my bill. I was very impressed by my whole experience there.
My wife and I brought our 6 year old son in because his pediatrician said he had possible acute appendicitis and said it needed to be looked at immediately. He had a 103° temperature when we first got to the hospital and he didn't get anything for his high temperature UNTIL 6 HOURS LATER!!! The doctor basically guilt tripping my wife and I about possible radiation from the CT scan. I'm sorry if we can't go shopping for a hospital that specializes in pediatrics! They gave him this nasty contrast to drink where he had to drink the whole nasty cup in 2 hours and we got a attitude that he only took 10 sips! I took one sip and it was nasty! Finally we got the good news that it wasn't appendicitis BEFORE the doctor came in with an attitude that we wasted his time! I understand that it's a ER but A LITTLE PROFESSIONAL COURTESY PLEASE!!!! WE ARE NOT COMING BACK TO THIS HOSPITAL EVEN IF IT WAS A EMERGENCY! Sadly, we used to like this hospital years ago. My son has PTSD from this trip to the hospital.
DONT EVER BRING YOUR KIDS TO THIS EMERGENCY ROOM. I took my 11 month old here because it’s Saturday and his doctors is closed. He has not been able to keep anything down since 3 am this morning. After waiting an hour to be seen by the nurse she tells me “he looks fine right now we have to discharge and move people around so it will be a little bit” then after I go back to the waiting room the next 3 people that went to check in with the nurse went back immediately. I guess an infant throwing everything up isn’t important in their eyes since my son didn’t look deathly ill to the nurse. Worst experience ever.
This refers only to the ER, as that is my only experience. The staff were efficient, the nurses and doctor kind and helpful, willing to take the time to explain everything and answer questions. We were very impressed. One note: if you have the chance bring warm clothes, they keep it very chilly in there.
This hospital sucks. The security guy was rude and touchy, the front desk clerks were unhelpful. You think a well established hospital would take the time to weed out all the idiots. I remember my first day at work. Please fire them all and start new. Worst staff ive ever encountered. Not to mention one of the front desk employees was taking a personal phone call while i was waiting to be helped.
Trying to reschedule a appointment. Front desk kept me waiting 15 minutes. Finally someone answered, and connected me to Dr. Office, but was on hold 15 minutes. Finally hung up. It would have been quicker to Drive there. Hope I can reschedule before 72 to hours before
My wife came in with health problems and all they did was drug her up and discharge her then had to come back following day with gallbladder problems when we arrive they hid her in hallway and did not help with medical needs when they went to discharge after hours they finally decided to do surgery after days of pain
