Since 1973, Cape Fear Orthopedics has been dedicated to improving the lifestyle of our patients. Our expert team of orthopedic surgeons provide specialized care and broad experience in the areas of sports medicine, total joint replacement, pediatric orthopedics, hand surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and general orthopedics. We provide comprehensive care from injury diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation services in the following areas: shoulder & elbow, hand & wrist, hip, knee, foot & ankle, sports medicine, pediatric orthopedics, osteoporosis, and physical/occupational therapy.

The lady at the front desk had the best customer service I have seen in many months. She assisted my Mother and myself above and beyond. Which included informing us about insurance information that could save my Mother money in the future. I am sorry I did not get her name. The Doctor was very patient with my Mother, she only wants him to administer the medication to her.  Thank you Cape Fear Orthopedics, you’re the best.

I seenPA Paul. He was very nice, came in introduced himself to me, asked me what happened looked at the X-ray, and told me that the boot I had on was the only thing they could do to fix my toe fracture. Tape the two last toes together and ware the boot and rest and ice as often as you can.  Come back in 4 weeks.Everyone else there was so nice and helpful as well.

My experience was amazing! Every staff member I encountered, were very sweet & welcoming. Made my visit very comfortable! I saw Dr. Lacap & he also made my visit very comfortable. He was very professional & thorough with explaining my condition and my options. I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with Dr. Blake Joeckel and the staff at Cape Fear Orthopedics. Ferncreek Location Each staff member, from the front desk, to the nurses, and Dr. Blake himself, was friendly, courteous, professional and worked well together as a TEAM! I appreciate the genuine effort made to ensure I received high quality care.

Dr Newman is wonderful!  He listened when I expressed a concern about a pain I’ve been experiencing. He didn’t just state the obvious “shoulder surgery is painful”.  He told me of things that might be contributing to the problem AND things I can do to help. He was also very positive about the progress I have already made and to be be patient will it continues to heal.

Excellence in every area! From the front desk, nurse assistants, x-ray technician, and PA Blake, we received professional, compassionate, and time sensitive services. Blake worked with my 4-year old grandson as though he was treating his own child! My grandson actually enjoyed his visit. That rarely happens in standard clinical visit. He’s excited to see Mr. Blake for the follow-up visit to look at his broken thumb. The Ferncreek office rocks!  Vicki M.

I was under another doctor’s care at Cape Fear and he is know longer there. My appointment with Doctor Lockup was very good and He was very nice as He explained step by what He needed done for my left knee and explained step by step what could be done and exactly what my choices was for the care of my knee. Everyone was very nice, and it is nice to be treated well since you are the patient in need of help. Professional, caring, smiling and laughing is good atmosphere for patients.The check in process was smooth and the entire staff were professional. I was so impressed I had to inform Dr. Blake and the office manager how outstanding they all are doing and I’m a tough critic . I will continue to come here  I was very well taken care of and all of my questions were answered. Thank you for your excellent service and care Cape fear Otho.

I am still healing, but surgery went very well. Everyone gets a little bit afraid of the word surgery, but rest assure you are in good hands. The Dr. explained the procedure and off to surgery I went. I've had a follow up and all things look well. End of story. P.S. the Arms, limbs and  Brace building is that exact same building but on the back side for the entrance.

All staff members were polite and friendly. If your ever in need of an Orthopedic Surgeon I highly recommend Dr. LaCap. I saw him for a knee injury.  I was include in the decisions about my care.  He is professional and very knowledgeable.  This was a very positive experience because of the care I received from Dr. LaCap.
