Just go to the “real” post office, this place is ridiculous. First off, it’s a substation or annex or something and isn’t an actual post office. Next, it looks like a tacky flea market in there, with some definitely questionable cultural items displayed for sale, along with some used perfumes? Real not-good weird vibe. Then today was my second visit and it was a very unpleasant experience, as it was last time now that I think about it. Was that also Amanda back then? I have a lot of forever stamps, which are cute and I want to use, obviously they are also worth money like to use for mailing…. Both times I’ve gone here I was mailing a small package to my friend, in state, Salida. Both times the staff today it was Amanda made it seem weird that I’d been mailing a small package bubble mailer and how since I didn’t buy postage with them and was going to use stamps, it would probably be red flagged ‘for drugs’ …..okay well it’s a book so inspect away I guess? Not trying to mail drugs lady, just a book if you guys need to open it go for it. When I made a comment about this being interesting and how I just wanted to use the stamps I was holding in my hand, she said it was the policy, and she ‘was just telling me’ , and continued to get more visibly irate. I said something like I wasn’t sure why she was getting upset, I had not been rude or anything up to this point, and as I said several times I understood she was ‘just telling me’, I apologized for making her upset and that made her more irate? Anyway I don’t know what the current usps rules are for small packages, but I have previous postal experience so I asked about media mail, which is just for books/records and is typically cheaper. She quoted me the price, said I still can’t use my stamps, so I say okay I’ll pay the ~$3.50….to which she says they have a $5 minimum that even legal really? At this point I decide I don’t want to give them any money, I’d rather go to the Galley USPS for real assistance. So took my packages and left, went to the real PO and guess what? No problem mailing my package using my stamps! Wow all it took was me asking and the clerk was happy to help! In summary- Amanda needs to take several chill pills and learn how to interact with customers. I won’t be back, and I advise you to just go the extra couple miles down to the actual PO where they know how things work, will give you options calmly, and don’t give you rude ‘tude. I promise I know what a Karen is and I’m not one lol This experience bothers me so much I’m gonna slog thru the USPS website to find where to file an actual complaint.
Because of the scanning and missed deliveries. I had to stop using this facility. Been going to the pack and ship on Austin Bluffs by fazolis. They give you a tracking number even if you're just dropping off a prepaid labeled package.
Use them for our business. Recently several orders we dropped off never got scanned or went to post office. Label just says created but not received. Our customers never got their orders and now we have to remake everything costing us a lot of money. We call to ask them where the packages could be and the lady who we talked to was extremely rude and did not care about the issue. She also took no responsibility and said it's USPS fault. If that really true why wouldn't they make sure the post office scans all the packages when they pick them up? I have never had this issue when dropping of directly at the post office. So lost a ton of money and the people working here could care less. Save yourself the trouble and go straight to USPS!!!
This place is very sketchy. Not sure why this is a USPS site - do yourself a favor and go to a real post office. They can't give you a tracking number on the spot, because they don't actually have the capability to print the labels until the truck gets there or something. So they manually just write down your email address and promise to manually email you the tracking number later.
Was selling something online, dropped off the package at Carefree Postal on a Saturday morning, was told I'd be emailed the tracking info shortly. I left, told the buyer it had shipped and that I'd send him the tracking info momentarily. Didn't get the email, tried calling a few hours later to see where the tracking info was, no response. A few hours later called again and left a message. Didn't receive any info through email Saturday or Sunday, at this point the buyer was getting suspicious that I'd ripped him off as I'd told him it'd shipped but didn't have any tracking info. After two more calls Monday, I finally got tracking info, looks like they hadn't even created a label when I dropped it off Saturday as the tracking didn't show acceptance until after 1100 on Monday. Doesn't look like USPS actually received the package until today Tuesday. I ended up having to refund the cost of shipping to the buyer as I'd told him it'd be en-route Saturday, but ended up not actually reaching USPS until Tuesday. Wish I'd just gone to the USPS and had it underway on Saturday and saved my self from having to refund the buyer.
Dropped off a packages there two days ago and there is still no movement on my packages. I called and the lady was very rude and said I would have to call the post office to see…I thought that what was I doing. She didn’t have answers and was short with me and rude. She said the “post office” picked them up but if they did there would be an update. I liked going to this location because it close by my home but I will drive further to avoid this rude unprofessional place.
Customer service was horrible. I just needed to understand why I wasn't given a tracking number for my package. I needed proof that it was sent out, but when I inquired about the tracking number was told it "would be emailed to me"? When I questioned why it wasn't being scanned immediately, was rudely handed a piece of paper and said it would be emailed to me. All of this was done after I paid for package. Will never do business here again
Friendly staff and they have decent pickup times from Usps. I only had a pre paid package so I didn’t get to try much of what they had to offer but overall they seem very nice and professional and in a very convenient part of town. Might be my new place to mail stuff.
The customer service used to be less than perfect but things have been improving. Prior employees would let customers drop packages off in the back but i think folks may have been grabbing other customers packages, I only say this because I had several missing. Now they take them at the counter and customers don't go to the back themselves. In addition, I've had nothing but smiles and friendly service. I initially left a critical review but the past few times I've gone in, it's been clean, employees were friendly. I have to give credit to them for improving things.
This place doesn't even deserve 1 Star. Very rude, unprofessional and incompetent staff! Tried to overcharge and blamed me for their mistakes, TWICE! No apology at all. Then they obviously can't read, printed labels with totally misspelled names and addresses, that way 1 package came back to me. Absolutely ridiculous!! This was my first and definitely last time going to this trash place!
