Caribou Cafe

Located in the middle of Kemmerer, Wyoming, this is a small, friendly, and accommodating place to get a wonderful lunch or dinner. The owner, Kerry, is as fantastic as the food, offering the quintessential small town friendly dining experience. Prices are reasonable for such quality food. You will feel very welcome in this quaint little cafe. We"ll be back!

My brother and I went to Kemmerer to eat at the Scroungy Moose but he was backed up with orders so it was a 40 minute wait which we declined, we then tried to go to Rosie's pizza but they were closed and catering a private party, so we went to the Caribou Cafe and it was fantastic. My brother had a Patty Melt with fries and I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. The service from this beautiful young woman with an incredible hairdo who was just stunning gave us multiple refills of our drinks and the other lady who brought the food was nice too. The food tasted great. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Delicious down home food. Fantastic, friendly service. We had the grilled chicken, sirloin steak, and country fried steak on different nights. The mashed potatoes were perfect. The sautéed squash was yummy.Food: 5/5

This was such a pleasant surprise on our road trip! Based on the recommendation by the cashier in Maverick's, we decided to visit Caribou Cafe for lunch. We all had different sandwiches, but can say the Triple Club was the best overall for flavor, price, and freshness. The mozzarella sticks and fries are to die for. The owner I didn't catch her name was so kind and welcoming too.

We had a great time here! I was won over immediately when our server handed menus in a way reminiscent of old fashioned values. My mother got a menu then my wife, then my father, then me. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer. I thoroughly enjoyed the way they were made. They come with a spicy sweet ranch dip that is very tasty. I ate the cob salad. My feeling was the menu description doesn't do the item justice. It was loaded with meat, cheese, eggs, avocado and everything else that makes a Cobb salad great. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak with the brown gravy. Fortunately I was able to eat some of her meal as well! The chicken fried steak comes with the option of corn or squash. We are told by locals that garlic fries are incredibly good here and we didn't try those but will next time when we come back. We finished the meal off eating a slice of mountainberry pie with ice cream. Also very good! The service is great and the food is delicious. This is a diner that anybody can walk into and feel like they just landed in their hometown diner. There is an additional surcharge to use credit and debit cards. Having said that, the prices seemed reasonable for the portion size.

The service was okay but nothing about the order was correct. I ordered a medium steak and over hard eggs and my eggs came runny with a steak that was so over done I had heartburn for the rest of the day. The people who came in after we already ordered and waited a while got their food long before us. All of this cost us $60 for 2 breakfasts and a kids meal.

This is where we went to say goodbye to our dear friend Matt Beach, everyone was very welcoming and his memorial was wonderful, saying goodbye was hard but it was good to have other friends there that loved him too especially for my son Steven Brian Haworth. Thanks for everything and all your help as we had traveled from Rock Springs. God bless you all
