I cannot say enough great things about Carl Alan Floral Designs. From the moment we had our initial consultation for our wedding, we knew they had to be the ones to work with. The whole staff was so helpful and thoroughly communicated every detail with my husband and I, from floral decor to the finances! Greg Stone and the design team could not have done a better job at bringing our wedding day vision to life. Every detail we worked out came to life it honestly made me so emotional!. They really listened to what we were looking to do and took into account health and safety regulations due to COVID-19. So many of us were impacted by the pandemic brides, vendors, etc but working with Carl Alan made us feel so comfortable and confident in our dream wedding becoming reality. I would and have already recommend Carl Alan to any future bride or anyone looking to have five-star experience working with a florist. Thank you all so much at Carl Alan Floral Designs for making our day a total dream come true!!!
[Note: I try to write specific reviews because I find most reviews on WW too full of vague, general adjectives that don't really provide insight into the vendor.] I found Carl Alan's customer service to be above and beyond any of the other florists I met with and I checked out several. Alexa sat with me, for several hours, really listened to me and helped bring my vision to life in real time! We got to actually work with the flowers themselves, the candles, the table arrangements, try out different props, see it under dim light, and more. That was SO valuable and meant more than just some pictures on a board. AND, to top it off, Alexa was amazing and willing to go see the newer venue I had chosen to help me design an installation around the dance floor. That's what really sealed the deal for me-- I could tell she loved what she does, and was willing to go the extra mile literally to help me realize my vision. I know I went to Carl Alan for different design than what they usually do -- I think they are known for more romantic and traditional, yet I was interested in tropical, structured, modern and minimalist. I thought Alexa did an excellent job with it!! She also worked with me being really sensitive to my budget and was creative about what we could repurpose and reuse to save money. The one aspect I did not like as much was the traditional approach of a florist that starts with centerpieces. This criticism of mine likely applies with almost all florists, though, not just Carl Alan. I would have preferred to start creating and visioning based on the event design I would have liked, and then figure out what floral and design pieces are needed to create it -- installations, alternative center pieces, decorating special structures in the venue, etc. Instead, the process was a bit more fixed/dictated in moving from centerpieces, to personals, to chuppah, etc. That is one of my few criticisms and, again, likely applies to most florists. Carl Alan Florist were absolutely instrumental in making my wedding day the most beautiful day of my life. When I walked into our reception room and saw the beautiful displays they had made I gasped. I never thought my wedding could be so sophisticated, so stunning, and so OUT OF THIS WORLD. From day one, they were all so kind and generous with their time and effort, and everything, from the bouquets to the tables, were beyond amazing. I asked them to make a bouquet for me and my mother, and they gave us a matched pair that made my mother tear up. About a month before the wedding I realized I had given them the wrong table count and forgotten to include our head table for our wedding party. Carl Alan resolved the issue with no problem - I had one phone call with our point person Alexa and she gave us her ideas and the problem was resolved! They were kind and considerate of our budget, and., despite our budget being small, their ideas remained breathtaking. Carl Alan is the best choice for flowers for your wedding - big or small - and I will be forever thankful I chose them for our big day!
I have to say I was intimidated to meet with Carl Alan as it was the vendor the venue had suggested and I thought it would be way out of my budget. I was blown away from the second I walked into our first meeting. They were so easy to work with within my budget while still ensuring I was getting the most important aspects of my vision. I walked into the consultation room with a table set based on my pinterest vision and it was SPOT ON! The appointment continued to wow me as they pulled out flowers to see what I liked best I have NO floral background whatsoever! and then sent me home with a bouquet of everything I had loved and was still thinking about. They continued to be incredible to work with during the entire planning process whether I had quick easy questions or touching base. The sample centerpiece night was so amazing! To go and see right in front of my eyes my vision come to life and envision what the ballroom was going to look like was so exciting! I received pictures of my bridesmaids and my bouquet the night before my wedding and it was all becoming so real and perfect! When my bouquet showed up the morning of my wedding I was rather disappointed in the size of it as it wasn't as we had discussed. As I was visibly upset, my Mom gave a nice quick call to Carl Alan and they sent over a designer to redo my bouquet right in my hotel room with no questions asked. We were never made to feel like it was too much to ask and they even gave a follow up phone call to make sure I was as happy as I could be with the finished product. Everything was so PERFECT! I HIGHLY recommend Carl Ala
I cannot say enough positive things about Carl Alan. We worked with Greg and he was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He was so incredibly patient with all of our emails going back and forth since we kept changing our minds about what we wanted. He was responsive and extremely accommodating. Before the ceremony, I caught a glimpse of the setup and I cried at how beautiful it all was. It was just perfect! When we had our room reveal, we both gasped at how gorgeous everything was. It was everything we wanted, plus so much more. I'm getting my bouquet preserved because it was just too beautiful not to. The wonderful people setting everything up were on time and extremely professional. I would highly recommend Carl Alan to anyone!
Pros: During the planning process they were attentive and accommodating, which I appreciated given I had to rescheduled 3 times during Covid. I also met the owner Carl while I was in the planning process and he was very, very nice. Cons: The team did not deliver on multiple things we talked about ahead of our reception. Our sweetheart table did not have flowers on it as discussed only greens which I’m sure is much cheaper and they did not use pillars to display flowers on the sides of the table. The team who set up was nice, but they ran late even though they were aware of the allotted time for them to set up. We were planning to rent additional vases for a couple hundred dollars and they did not end using them. The venue made sure I was aware of this too because they used their vases instead. Since they did not use them, I asked to be refunded for what I paid for the additional vases nothing else and was basically ignored. I was told they were sending a check, never received one… then followed up a couple times and never heard back. After spending thousands and thousands of dollars on flowers with them, it is mind boggling to me that they cannot return a couple hundred dollars that we are owed. Our wedding reception was last May 2021 so they have had plenty of time. Does not seem ethical to me at all and because of this I will not use them for any future events or recommend them.
Even during the COVID-19 epidemic Carl Alan knows how to come in clutch time and make a fine boutonnière. Might not get to have the wedding my fiancé and I want in June, but despite everything we’re still getting married civilly in May, and I get to sport one of these beauties. I originally asked for one but Alexandra went above and beyond and was generous to make two. One for each color scheme I gave: plush pink and ivory. Definitely recommend Carl Allen—even on short notice.
We booked Carl Alan for our wedding and had an overall great experience! I booked them as a vendor in 2019, but due to Covid-19, had to postpone until 2021. Despite transitioning floral designers, and communicating 100% virtually, Carl Alan executed my overall design beautifully. They were extremely accommodating and able to take my photos and execute flawlessly. The wedding florals were every single thing I ever wanted as a girl on her wedding day--I just wish they could have lasted after I took them all home!! Definitely would love to work with them again!
My husband and I got married last July and I cannot say enough good things about the Carl Alan team!! Alexa was so patient and thorough in all of her meetings with us and came up with a simple but elegant/classic and modern design for the bouquets and the place settings! They worked with our budget too! Then when the day arrived, I didn’t have to worry about the flowers at all as the team set up everything at the Loews and picked it all up when the day was over. I would highly recommend Carl Alan to do your wedding! So professional and the flowers are beautiful!
Carl Alan Floral Designs was my favorite wedding vendor! Kathleen and Bobby helped me every step of the way, going above and beyond to make my wedding beautiful! They helped us make last minute changes, stayed within budget, and were always flexible and accommodating. Everyone on the team was wonderful, and Carl Alan himself stopped in to check on me during the appointments. I remember walking into the venue and being blown away by the floral arrangements we designed. I absolutely love Carl Alan Floral Designs and highly recommend their services to any couple planning their wedding.
