The Carlisle Homecoming is held at the historic Carlisle Cemetery on the first Saturday in May beginning at 11:00 am.
The Carlisle Cemetery is significant because it is the final resting place for over 500 residents of the community and area. The oldest marked grave in the Cemetery is that of William Cooper who died on March 10, 1867. He served in the 5th Texas Infantry of the Confederate States of America There are many other veterans buried in the cemetery including veterans of the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War.
