Service was pretty good. Took a minute for them to warm up and then he was very nice. We tried several desserts, which were fairly average. I really liked the cannoli. I bought a few cupcakes to try, because I have a cupcake baking hobby. The cake is like pound cake, very dense, a little dry, but I like pound cake, so that was alright I guess. Just not what I tend to think of when I think of cake. Got to have dense cake to make those cake sculptures though, so I get it. The frosting is disgusting. It's like a mouthful of lard, all fat, no flavor. I was happy to say I went, but I probably wouldn't go back. I prefer the cupcakes I make.
Not really that good. The cake was too dense. Box mix is better, fluffier and more moist. We paid a lot of money for these and I can say it wasn't worth it. The decorative capability is great! If you're looking for the name then go with this place. But they're over priced for the lack of taste in the cupcake.
My mom and I are on vacation and we were so looking forward to coming here .... and was vastly disappointed. When we came in there were two girls talking to each other while working. They both glanced up, ignored us, and continued talking. .... I was so insulted. That is NOT how you treat a customer. But, we wanted to try the cheesecakes. So we bought them and had them set aside to pick up later. And, okay, I got a little starry eyed and asked if this was the place from the TV show. The girl scoffed, rolled her eyes and said 'yeah'. Wow. When I went back to pick up the cheesecakes, there were 2 girls and 1 guy hanging out behind the counter. No one said a word, the one girl got up, went into the fridge, came back with a box sealed up with string and was not happy when I asked her to open it so I could be sure it's what we ordered. The cheesecakes were just ok, the service was horrible and I would not go back nor would I recommend the bakery to anyone I know.
I was here in business and purchased cupcakes and a truffle. I was disappointed in this location this time. We went by on sunday at 7pm and they were closed even when the hours said they were open. Went back Monday and got a pastry and it was stale. I returned tonight to get items to take home on the plane and I got one to eat and it was stale. Last two visits prior to June were terrific, not this time.
We went to Carlos Morristown to pick up the Unicorn cake for my daughters 9th Bday. We are all so excited because the reputation of the Cake Boss, to our disappointment, the cake did not taste like anything except sugar! Why would a good looking cake have no taste. Shoprite would have made a better cake, for less than 1/2 the price!!! We called them, no call back, we had to call again. The manager, Melissa finally called back & told us that we were have a $45 credit in the store. We finally went back over the Thanksgiving weekend to pick up our pasties. Got some cookies, choc covered strawberries, brownies & cannolis. They were mediocre at best & even though the staff was very accommodating & friendly, it does not make up for high priced Mediocre at best baked goods. We want people to know there are so many more places inc supermarkets to select from to get better pastries, do not waste your money!
Ordered a 1/4 sheet cake for my sons graduation dinner. Cake was $50 pls $10 for fresh strawberriesthat we’re non existent and later I found out the additional $10 was for colored icing and decorations... uhh? I got to the car and realized they’d spelled Michael wrong. You know most common name for last 50 years?! Had to go back in. Repaired and gave me 25% off next cake. The decorations were so minimal and ugly I had to go out and buy some and decorate myself. So excited for this “famous” cake. The cake was not moist, the icing tasted like the one I learned how to make in 8th grade and as I stated previously mushed strawberries in the “French cream” not able to distinguish if fresh or not. I was so disappointed. Anyone need a coupon for 25% off?? I took pics of before and after but I don’t see where to post pics .
Sorry, I don’t get the hype of this place. I’ve had cookies from the Hoboken location that were good, but nothing mind blowing. Same here, cannolis were pretty good but the cake left something to be desired. Not worth the $$$ in my opinion. I’ve had better from Costco.
Being on a diet, I was looking forward to my weekly treat and bought a sfogliatella which tasted dry and stale. I am here at 9:30am and I doubt it was baked today. What a bummer! I used to go to their Hoboken location years back and this shop of a far cry from that experience. Low energy staff and I'm the only customer here at the moment.
In town visiting from Nashville, this was a must stop after my visit to the Hoboken store. I was even more impressed at the service at this location. The quality of the food was just as amazing. Highly recommend the apple turnover and cannoli.
Wrong time on the website and wrong time on the voicemail. Both say 8:00pm Got here at 7:05 and the counter woman refused to open the door. Change your hours online and on your voicemail to reflect correct hours. Will not be coming back.
