It was a great park. It have 2 different parking and entrances. Have a huge grass yard. I didnt take picture of the grass yard because someone was hosting some kind of birthday party there so I didn3t want to intrude.
I live nearby. Children are able to play safely. Parents are with them. And everyone is having a good time. I have to commend Carlsbad PD & Fire Depts. They are Professionals and do a Great job at protecting our community. Playground: There's a large multi use Astroturfed field used to play soccer, softball, & football. The Carlsbad Highschool Lancers practice there. I can see why they win so many games against other highschools. They have a good coaching staff. Restrooms: Clean & well maintained. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are leashed by their owners. Dog owners are responsible, taking care of their pets properly. Picnic area: The picnic areas are well maintained by the Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Dept. And the Carlsbad Senior Center is nearby. All in All, I'm impressed with the layout by the Cities Planning Committee.
Pine avenue is a nice park with a playground for the kids and barbecue area with picnic tables. Basketball courts and so far clean bathrooms with soap to wash your hands. Next to the community centers for youth and seniors. NO DOGS allowed in this park. It looks like this allowed Homeless sleeping, people drinking alcohol by the corner In the park and RVs parked all day is what you will also find here.
Really nice park. Something for everyone. We saw a chicken roaming the garden area, it seemed unbothered by us. It must live there.
Great place. Bathrooms really good. The best surprise was not having to pay parking for the soccer tournament, Carlsbad doing it right! Thank you City of Carlsbad. Playground: Clean, lots of beautiful trees which give lots of shade in this heat
Nice park and community/senior center. Park has a nice playground for younger kids and field for sports. Great place for a picnic, or just to enjoy time with your children / family.
The park has a basketball court, play ground, and full size turf soccer field with softball field. The soccer field is often reserved for club teams and clinics, but you can usually find space on the sides for drills. Restrooms there. There was a problem with homeless hanging out, but carlsbad homeless outreach has been doing a good job. Haven't seen any recently. Soccer tournament going on. Easy walk or drive to food options. Lola's, pizza port, etc.
Decent enough park, especially for soccer. However, there are often homeless in the park, making it slightly awkward for kids as they leave practice. Not great lighting either, so important for parents to be nearby, from a safety standpoint.
We have a plot in the community garden, which is nicely set up. The garden consists of raised beds, which are great because you don't have to lean over so much and the beds get far fewer weeds. The new community center building is supposed to have places for all sorts of sports and games. The park itself has a children's playground and large open grassy areas as well as ball fields. However, like many parks in Southern California, the park is experiencing a uptick in homeless users and campers. There are usually two or three tents set up at the east side of the park where the picnic area is. This renders these areas unusable by anyone else. Playground: There is a playground near the community center. Restrooms: The restrooms almost always have TP, even on Sunday afternoons. Picnic area: There are picnic areas scattered about. However, the largest one where the BBQs are is infested with homeless people.
Great little park! The only thing that made us leave were the homeless people smoking pot.
