Originally when we brought our dog here we were so happy with the customer service and care that was provided for our pet. Unfortunately within the last 1-2 years the quality of care significantly decreased. We decided to switch vets because it felt unsettling when the last doctor who was summarizing our dogs visit confused our pet with another pet she previously saw. Fast forward to today, our new veterinarian went over our dog’s old records including his blood work here at Carlsen Animal Hospital. She had told us that he had elevated enzymes in his previous blood work done 2 years ago here. This elevated enzyme level could indicate liver disease or a bone disorder yet the doctor at animal Carlsen hospital NEVER mentioned to us once. We could have taken an early initiative to do additional testing for better treatment options or provide better care had we known that our dog’s blood work was abnormal earlier. It is so disappointing that due to this delay in information it could have caused potential harm to our dog. We would think Veterinarian clinics would want to do the complete opposite of harming our pets. We wouldn’t want any pet owner or pets to go through this. We definitely recommend taking your pet elsewhere!
Amazingly kind receptionists and vet staff - call before hand for a time that's not busy, it will make your life and their service much better! They will really look after your pet, my dog is always so stoked to visit. After nutering he wasn't feeling or acting his normal self, they asked us to bring him back in for a day. After that pick up he was the healthiest happiest pup I've ever seen. They even called a week after to see how he was doing. Their love and care for your pet really shows in my experience.
My family and I could not be more grateful for the high-quality of care provided by Dr. Bhuta and her incredible staff. Thanks to everyone there for their infinite knowledge & compassion for animals. The doctor only wanted to do what was best for the doggy. Dr. Bhuta educated our family on a complicated diagnosis as well as its necessary procedures in a way that we could each process well enough to be able to share with our extended family and friends effectively. She is also extremely genuine. The support members of her team each took their time with us as patience, acting professional, polite, and caring. Huge thanks to Dr. B, Nicole, and the team at Carlsen Animal. Dr. Bhuta is an angel. I hope you will do yourself and your fur baby a favor and go see the team at Carlsen Animal Hospital if you are in need of an animal expert for any reason.
Carlsen Animal Hospital is the only place I trust to take the best care of my cat, Spoon. The staff are kind, friendly, knowledgable and willing to work with their clients to ensure their pets' safety and wellbeing is prioritized. I am so thankful for their willingness to work with my financial needs, and highly recommend them as a business. Dr. Golshahi is seriously incredible- she loves the animals she works with it and it shows. I'll always continue to return here for Spoon's care!
I took my puppy here for the first few weeks I had him but moved to a new vet after several bad experiences. Everyone was friendly, but they set up his exam schedule so he would have to get an extra set, costing me a couple hundred dollars. They didn't communicate at all. I could write up a big story with all the details explaining what else happened, but in the end my advice is to take your dog somewhere else.
Never enter or return, in recommendation. This place has absolutely solidified its view regarding complete disregard for long-standing customers and care of those pets deemed "family". William "Bill" Carlsen, DVM, actively lived up to his widespread and highly-deserved professional reputation as a constantly-rising star within the animal health industry; as one of the most expert treating physicians to ever exist, operating for, roughly, 40 years, before his 2018-19 retirement from the veterinary world; the doctor and healer was not only incredibly well-known across the Golden State, but his talents remained well-known across the entire nation, with the country's foremost animal health care professionals constantly recognizing the expert's professional insight, talent and gifts when dubbing the doc, "God" of the animal kingdom's medical realm. When Bill Carlsen more recently retired, the greatest disservice has proved to be the incidental, assumedly accidental, "poisoning" oh his professional AND HUMAN, name - which should've been stripped from the business upon sale. One of the greatest men I have ever known, treated my most beloved family members, for more than 15 years. I would trust this man with my life. I did entrust this man with the beings I love most on this earth. And Carlsen Animal Hospital failed miserably, in every respect. I actually informed staff I would ultimately be posting review, an action which I assume has been long forgotten by the staff members and office that turned me away at my most vulnerable moment and time of need. The office staff clarified that any posted words in review were of no importance or relevance to the business itself. But at least customers and animal lovers must be notified of the truth regarding this business and complete and total lack of care, on par with a level of, simply, disgusting.
Lovely and amazing people greeting you and your pet. They make sure they really take care of your pet. Doctors are amazing with surgery. All are very kind and understanding when explaining sensitive situations. I honestly will only trust this animal hospital when it comes to my dog he has had 2 successful surgeries with them. You can tell they really care and are not in it to take your money. Also, extremely clean during this time! They come to your car to get your pet in all the gear to keep everyone safe.
We have been with Dr. Carlsen's practice for 16 years and they provide outstanding care. Our first dog, Murphy, they looked after for 14 years, from his puppy years to when we finally had to put him down. They have always taken care of our dogs with compassion. I love the staff and appreciate how hard they work.
The vets and staff at Carlsen are very professional and extremely caring. You can tell they do what they do because they genuinely love animals. My cat has been treated so well here, and I will continue to bring him here for checkups and whenever he eats something he’s not supposed to.
