You can tell there's new management. I travel from Clarksville to The Showbox not only for price but the experience. Everytime I walk through their doors the nostalgia of the golden age of theaters fill my heart.
Nice and clean with great picture and very affordable. My only complaint is the sound sometimes is way to loud in the theater. Other than that this is a great place to catch your movie needs.
I recently went back after covid so maybe the experience will improve but my movie watching experience was horrible. For one the seats felt stiff and uncomfortable after a while. I adjusted quite a few times throughout the movie. Our theater volume was quite low so on some talking scenes I couldn't understand what they were saying. Our screen also was quite dark and had blue spots all over the screen. Some nighttime scenes were absolutely unwatchable because you couldn't see what was going on. Overall definitely not the right way to return to the movies. Theater feels very dated and retro in not a good way. I'd recommend the tiny town regal RPX theater or take it to Nashville if your a die hard movie fan. This and the AMC in government square are definitely bottom of the barrel. Staff is very friendly though so no need to worry there at least!
Place was nice and clean, sound was good enjoyed the movie great environment would definitely recommend.
I love going to the local movie Theater always want to support our town!! I was a little disappointed that they do not do the matinee special anymore where you get a free small popcorn with your movie ticket. That was a definite perk when going with little ones. Staff was pleasant and things were clean though but definitely should Not have gotten rid of this!!
I absolutely love this place! Best prices... Friendly staff.. comfortable chairs.. just fabulous. They have matinees, early morning matinees and regular movies. They also have great prices on popcorn and pop. The morning matinees come with a small popcorn .
Cinema 3 should have left side of audio checked - some cracking not associated with movie is happening . Make sure if you look into it the technical team has good hearing capabilities
The ladies in the front were nice. However, the place was dirty and greasy feeling. There were stains everywhere on the seats and carpets. The bathrooms didn't have toilet paper. The floor had either water or pee on the ground. Hoping it was water. Holes in the carpet. Just felt very dirty. Again, the employees were nice though. Still. We almost just almost walked out, but after driving to get here we sucked it up.
I went to see Top Gun this morning June 8. The movie was awesome as expected but damn the theater itself was awful. Nasty carpets . Don't look like they have ever been changed since the place was built over 40 years ago. The felt on the wall in the theater covered with dust seats look like they have never been replaced since the place opened. Restroom was filthy places broken out of the drywall just GROSS!!!! I'll probably never go back there even if it was free admission ! Sorry to say
We recently moved to Hoptown. We love movies and try to go once a month or so. We were happy to find this theater and went to see Jurassic Park, my son went back with his brother a few days later to see Lightyear. To break m rating down: - price: 5 stars, because great matinee bargains, and the VIP popcorn deal works out good for regular movie visits esp. for 2 or 3 people - service: 5 stars, because everyone was nice and accommodating - movie experience: 2 stars, a bit below average, because they forgot to turn off the lights and my son went to ask them to do so 20 minutes into the film; and because their starry background/scree saver thing was on for the whole film and you could see it whenever the screen was dark - cleanliness: 1 star, because OMG I almost left as soon as I walked in due to how nasty the rugs look. The seats were not as bad and the walls looked fairly recently painted, so I stayed. But the rugs grossed me out. I mean, they are seriously off-putting no matter how clean the rest of the place may be. I was afraid to go into the bathroom and thankfully didn't have to. So hopefully they'll be a bit more on top of the lights/screen, which is an easy fix, and if they can't get rugs replaced right now they'll at least invest in a good cleaning. For now I plan to be back but I gotta say if the bathrooms are bad or the cleanliness gets any worse I probably will stop going.
